Thanks for your help rustee. I started the age from scratch and I still can't get it to work...
One question about what you've written:
-I couldn't find any information about an .fni file in the Wiki. However, it seems as if Drizzle24 creates a file like that because it is in my Uru installation /dat-folder
So you got my file (with your modifications) to load in Uru? Even if I change the index number to 1 I still get the same behaviour.
Do you use Drizzle24 to get the age into Uru? Do you then use "/link agetest" to link to it? Or do you always use the Nexus?
So many questions ..... sorry

If Drizzle creates a default fni file then just skip that line.
If you don't want the default settings then
http://www.guildofwriters.com/wiki/FNI_SettingsYes I got your age working.
Yes I use Drizzle24 and I type '/link agetest' from Relto (it's actually 'testage')

Would it be possible for you to upload the working files? Just so that I can check whether the problem is in my setup.
Because even if I create a new age from scratch and take all the things that we have discussed so far into consideration I still can't load the age.
(and you already know my filenames better than me

)

!PROBLEM SOLVED!
Your upload made me realize the problem, rustee ... you changed one little thing intuitively without mentioning it here

It's the Sequence Prefix
I had read
THIS WEBPAGE with a list of possible sequence prefixes.
There it says:
But you shouldn't use anything over 2^16-1 = 65535, as some versions of the engine will not allow it.
So I chose 55555 for my age. That simply isn't recognized by the engine.
rustee deleted one of the 5s making it 5555 - now everything works perfectly!
Thanks for your help. Now let's talk about all the exciting things that you can do with this plugin - lightmaps anybody

Ah so it was 55555. I suspected it could be the problem so I changed it to 3 digit number first (perhaps at this stage is began to work) and then I thought I changed it back to make sure it's not the prefix that caused problems. But it turned out I forgot one digit.

It's great to see you all making progress with the plugin!
<public service announcement>Just a side note: the list of all age sequence prefixes can be found
here. I added 5555 to the list, reserving it for you, TheMagician. For the benefit of everyone reading this thread, please use this link for registering new ages.
