Me to. I plan to buy "Beyond Good & Evil" from them instead of Steam, despite the fact that the Steam version is cheaper.

Just that Steam Uru has no DRM at it at all.

Actually, I think Steam Uru does have DRM, but that it's tied to the executables, which get replaced. I haven't checked Uru yet, but TheManhole and CosmicOsmo seem to be that way. (I went ahead and bought the Cyan pack hoping it didn't have DRM, but it does.) I'll check this later, and let folks know.

Okay, I've checked and the Steam version of Uru does indeed have the Steam DRM. But since that just applies to the binaries, it can still be used with UAM if you install the No-CD patch overtop. (And of course, shards use their own binaries.)

But unlike gog.com, Valve is mature enough to NOT fake close down Steam.

You can also use it with UAM without the no-cd patch. =) I have done so. =P

Yes, but it will engage the DRM and invoke the Steam client.

...it still works, however. If you wish to buy something on steam, /especially/ when its available elsewhere, typically, the steam client is a /benefit/, not a problem. ;)

the steam client is rather quite handy, especially for the overlay. I personally run /all/ my copies of Uru through steam. ;)

So in other words - it works, and on top of that, it works exactly as expected - You just don't like steam. ;)

Which is fine, but the truth of the matter is, fan content works perfectly fine on Steam, without the no-cd patch. Which is in stark contrast to what you said earlier.

That. Plus:

SFW?
I travel a lot, and I would not call "not to be able to play my steam-singleplayer-games without internet acces" a benefit.

1) Why on Earth would You do such a terrible thing? (No meant to offend: I'm just geune interested)
2) Personally I find Steam client just awful, and cluncky.

In the end: Yes I use Steam, becouse there are some games not avaible anywere else. But then You compere GOG to Steam, I thin k that Steam is cheaper, but becouse it is worse
