Hehehe!

Well, it's not a bad winter this year at all, fortunately. We don't have much snow and it's actually been warmer than down in the Lower 48 for part of the year due to this weird weather pattern that's been going on. (You been having that too in Quebec Chacal?) The only thing left to complain about is the fact that it's evening blue by 4:30 pm in the afternoon and night by 5:30 pm. Ah well, it's nice to be able to see the moon, stars and the northern lights too, which you really can't see in the summer, since it's light all the time (which I absolutely LOVE!).

Yes, we had a warm fall season, it was actually better than in Switzerland where I went for work. But now Mother Nature is coming back to us, we've had 3 feet of snow and there's another foot coming in tomorrow.
We're also in the dark from 4:30 PM. Maybe Alaska and Quebec are two different locations on Taghira?
I wonder what our crime was.

Alas, I still haven't gotten to Myst V yet (still stuck on Riven). Rime perhaps? (Can't believe we were charged extra for that level when all we needed to do was step out the front door, lol)

As soon as you finish that assignment, you should go through Riven and Exile on Gametap, then Myst V. It is beautiful.
Taghira is a prison Age, an iceberg on a cold planet.

You know, I was just thinking that Rime would have made a great prison Age.

It is quite similar to Spire (in Myst IV), which was a prison Age for Sirrus.

Ah yes, I remember watching my brother play through part of that one. We both strongly agreed that we would prefer to be trapped in the jungle Age, like Achenar was.

I went to Quebec several years ago during the month of december, and I loved it, great place, great people, but the thermometer was bellow -40 Celsius degrees!!

(no, I have no idea how much that is in your Farenheit degrees..)
I was told "that's ok, past -20 you can't feel the difference". Yeah probably, but I stayed inside anyway..

Wow, weird! It so happens that -40 degrees Celsius, when converted to Fahrenheit, is... -40 degrees Fahrenheit.

But don't believe them, you can definitely feel it even after it goes below twenty, especially on your eyes. And you can do fun things like shattering licorice on the dash of your car or throwing boiling water outside and watching it instantly turn into steam and snowblowing the yard and driveway. Actually that last option is pretty uncommon (thank goodness!) since for some reason it's either snowy and warmer or clear and cold. Something about the clouds trapping the heat, maybe?
