I agree with you, BAD. UU is not interesting. The 3rd option could work if Cyan loses all hope and decides to let go and share, but I'm not holding my breath. Alcugs, yeah, why not?
The problem with Tweek's 3rd point is: no timeframe. How long will we be waiting for a sign from Cyan?
But hey, you know what? We were having lots of fun until 15:30 this afternoon, and all that outside of MOUL. Why stop? Granted, there was the hope of seeing our Ages in MOUL, but with all we've just said, I consider the hope is still there. I, for one, am still willing to go and start making Ages and sharing them with our small communty. And maybe one day we'll share them together online.

UU is not interesting.
I disagree, despite UU's lack of content, we had loads of fun. It was more than just a glorified chatroom.
But if Until Uru gets resurrected, I think it would be really great if we could get Cyan's blessing and legal permission to implement fan made ages into UU. It could never be anything like Uru Live, but it would be something more than Until Uru ever was.
I think if we get permission from cyan and their legal department, we can carry on.
They said it themselves: The ending has not yet been written.
As long as
we have the "pens" in our hands, I don't think it ever will.

Sorry, for that, I meant technically.
UU was buggy and unstable. We would be better off with entirely new code.

I posted this in the programming section but felt what the hey after today I'll splurge and post here as well. Just in case it doesn't get noticed by anyone capable of saying if it is pie in the sky for the Writers of very useful down in the programming section.
I found this while looking in sourceforge the other day and was planning to mention it to you guys at the next all guild meeting in MO:UL after I had a chance to try putting it to the use I have planned, but I figure now why wait.....
DirectPython is a C++ extension to the Python programming language which provides access to DirectX (9.0c) API, including Direct3D, DirectSound, DirectShow and DirectInput.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/directpython/I don't know if it would be something useful to you here, I was looking for a way to script something in the blender GamePack that python doesn't do well and this popped up and so far seems to fit the bill for me.

Greetings fellow explorers,
I know I should probably be introducing myself in the proper forum, but it seems I have once again returned to the cavern at it's closing. My in game name is Leonardo DaVinci, and I actually helped beta test Uru way back when they were first going to launch it, at the time however, my system either couldn't handle it or the game itself had too many bugs. In any case, I have found myself back in the cavern again only to learn that they will soon be closing it. I stumbled into Kirel neighboorhood to find all the tables with the descriptions of all the guilds, and decided that I would like to join the Guild of Writers because of my excellent abilities to write. I also found the Guild hall and this website and have been reading through this dire news.
Like so many others, I signed on with GameTap less than a month ago to play Uru again, and I for one would like to help where I can in this Guild. From what I have gathered, about writing ages, it seems I have a few things to learn. Specifically, computer coding, which I am more than open to learning new things. I know that I could be a great asset to the guild.
Sincerely,
DaVinci.

Well with Leonardo Da Vinci on board, design shouldn't be a problem anymore !

Welcome Leo. For your first steps in Age Building, after browsing through these forums, the best thing to do is head to the wiki, where you'll find tutorials for getting started.

I am very sad about the news off yesterday. This was something I didn't expect.
But........... I agree with Kierra we had a lot of fun without MOUL so I think we must give it a chance to continue our profession of writing.
I believe that it has more power as we try to hold the guilds together. More people make us stronger.
The new ages made by us writers, are maybe not as sophisticated as the Cyan ones, but they are growing in quality.
When I see the first ages from a few years ago and the ages made now there is a great difference between them in quality.
There is so must progression made this year, a new site, good tutorials, new PRP and so on. It is very sad when we led that go.
PS: My English is not so good for expression such sensitive items, so sorry when I not have used the right words.

No I'm a realist.
I also know things are in the works from Cyan, all I am saying it hold on for now.
Yes there is a time frame, MOUL closes in 60 days, there is a time-frame there, not exact but it's something to work with.

Hmm, maybe abit late to post this, I had it on my notebook yesterday when my battery went down.
Anyway here goes:
We will hold on, Tweek.
If you say things are in the works, then things are in the works.
We will continue as we always did, and await the situation for a while.
I am reminded of an event of a few years ago:
I had a job where I was employed through an employment agency (even though I applied for the job directly with the firm itself).
After a 3 week holiday, I suddenly found a letter from the employment agency about them terminating cooperation with that firm, and when I contacted my boss there, he didn;t want to say much.
Only after I severed all connections with the former employment agency was my boss willing to explain the situation to me (they had gotten into a heavy disagreement with the employment agency).
And ofcourse I was hired again shortly afterwards.
It goes without saying that the situation was kind of unnerving.
There may be some similarity here....
There'll be some more info in 60 days perhaps
