Thanks for the info, Trylon. I just removed my bid. Good luck!

Why? That may lessen the chance of a win. The more of you who bid, the greater the chance of getting the domain if there are many bids. The winner can transfer the domain to the top dog. What's the problem?

If they are bidding against each other, the price might end up much higher than necessary.

This makes no sense to me.

I thought this was just an attempt to capture the domain when it expires and the term "bid" was being used loosely. Is there an actual auction for it going on?

Yes. This is how backordering a domain works.

BTW My feet are being stomped on so hard that I feel it even when I'm 40 miles away from my PC.

If it's a simple backorder, the more of you who join the effort, the more likely it is that one of you will get it. Then one of you can transfer it to Adam's feet. I mean, if you all trust each other, that is. :P

No, a backorder == auction. For example, Go Daddy bids $10 on your behalf as part of the backorder cost. If you're outbid, you have to pay to increase your bid.

With the guildofwriters.org domain still being about 60 days away, how about also taking a secondary domain for it?
Until wednesday I still have a few free domain registrations left

I already registered guildofwriters.info, just so we'll have it if we choose to use it, but do any of you have some better ideas?
guildofwriters.info does seem likea a good second choice to me for an ic site

Hoikas, I take it you can provide hosting space for the IC site?

Yes, I was already beginning to construct a design template for the "new" site(s). I think I will leave the production of content to you guys but with a little oversight (I'll come back through and check your work). Hopefully we can skin the forum and wiki to get rid of this red and black mayhem.
