I read the file, it doesn't seems to contain the "usual" patching error, but there is something looking strange here:
"Patching: dat\city_District_palace.prp
Result: OK

Patching: dat\city_District_Textures.prp
Result: OK, new version already installed"

I don't understand, you used the Complete Chronicles version of an UU patch on a non-modified CC :?: I don't understand how it could have happened... I'll re-install UU to compare then...

:shock: :shock: I don't understand either...I used UU-Patcher_v0.38.9_for_Uru_CC downloaded here: http://www.the-deep-island.de/uru-tools/, as you said on your first post...and on a non-modified CC of course....

Hmm...I just had an interesting thought. Could flymode get into the Wall? :o I need to test that but I expect a repeat of the meeting room effect.

What do you mean ? Add a linking book for the Wall area ? And flymode can go into that area, but only if you have converted the Wall area file with Drizzle (without the footstep sounds).

However, if you just want to go in the area, you can try to use the tutorial (but only if you have PageEditor...)

No, I mean use a URU install with the Offline KI to /flymode into the Wall area.

Why not? Just fly in.
We've all been doing that for years, but the problem was the game would crash whenever you went out of flymode and hit the floor.
Now this has been fixed and it is even possible to get into the wall area by using the chutes.
Don't actually touch the wall, though, this still makes the game crash.

Chacal, I just used the trick for the first time. I made it into the Team Blue wall room. There were no crashes even when I tried to climb the wall. Unfortunately, the wall is still unusable. However, a few minor updates to the patch may be able to create a wall running almost a smooth as the old one:

1. Hack Gahreesen and add spawn points to both walls.
2. Create a basic, one-room Age with linking books to both walls.
3. Somehow, program the walls climbing system to reactivate.

I'm not sure, but an UU install might help us. Any suggestions?

We don't need those 2 things, as everything but the climbing part is easy to fix. I've done it on my POTS installation (I wish I remembered how).

I'm sorry to tell you that we've been through all of this before.
The wall works fine with the UU client, which we can't use for Alcugs shards.
There's a general consensus that there is some extra code in that client that is required for the wall to work.

It should be possible to re-code the whole climbing part in Python. Nobody wants to spend time on this, but feel free to try.

You should know, however, that even when it was working on UU shards, it was almost never played, due to the complexity of setting up a game, let alone draw spectators in. Also, not that much fun for the two contestants, as they just toil at solving the maze, frustratingly falling down at each error, without ever seeing the opponent. Actually, I can't recall a single game being played on the shards I visited. I think everyone tried it exactly once, and usually alone.

Alone that's quite useless, for sure... but...
Anyway, it seems there are still a lot of people on many threads thinking it is a great lost.

Unfortunately you loose the great footsteps sounds.

Wall climbing bug: nor for myself. Chacal, do you mean the converted MOULa file ?
About 1. and 2.: why bother with this ? Once you have the good files, you can play the other part of the Wall correctly, and it would cause a problem with the panels.
For the Wall climb fix, it is a part of the UruExplorer.exe and cannot be directly fixed. The best way for this would be to use a HexEditor to do this, but it would be pure and simple suicide :lol: .

But once again, a Python file can solve this. It should be possible to create AT LEAST a basic climbing by using some other Python file and find the commands for the arrows and tell the game to use the NonGlobal anim when pressed (right ? I'm not that good in Python). But I guess the hard part are the blockers and the Wall colliders.
