Re: Blender 2.57
There will be a "super-testing" release of PyPRP 2 at the same time as the GoW Shard is released. This should (hopefully) occur within the next week or so.

Re: Blender 2.57
Couldn't ask for better.
Thanks for the update.

Re: Blender 2.57
Quick update: I just added support for exporting Blender surfaces and meshes with modifiers. I make pretty heavy use of modifiers in my workflow, and I was getting sick of having to make a copy of the file with all the modifiers applied at every export. Especially given how much emphasis Blender 2.5 puts on modifiers, I hope everyone else will find this a useful feature. At the moment, Surfaces don't generate any UV coordinates, so they're not terribly useful, but they came free with support for modifiers.
I'm not sure it's worth synchronizing the PyPRP2 release with the server at this point - we're way behind on where we wanted to be server-wise. I'll talk to Lontahv when I get a chance and we'll see about getting something out sooner than later.

I won't be concerned about the release of the server/s long as I can output my ages to somewhere I can see them as an avatar like I can at present using CC and there's some method of passing them on for inspection testing like we do at present using Drizzle.
OK I appreciate that this is not going to be a quick process but it's good to see it's comming along. and about a thousand times more feedback than we ever got from Cyan

Yep. This is currently available in 1.6; and that something I couldn't definitely not work without...

While I still don't use 2.5 (missing polygon modelling features..) it'd be great to give it a try. If anything it'd enable you to get some more user feedback.Branan wrote:I'm not sure it's worth synchronizing the PyPRP2 release with the server at this point - we're way behind on where we wanted to be server-wise. Re: Blender 2.57
@Aloys: Yeah, user feedback is definitely needed.
@J'Kla: PyPRP2 can target ABM/UU, PoTS/CC, MOUL/CWE, MystV, and HexIsle. Hopefully at least one of those will work for your testing

Bravo! *claps hands*
Very well done. I was already wondering how this would behave (I use modifiers as well often), so this is a good feature.

Well, if the export is synched with the server or not, I would love to get an impression how "special parameters" for Plasma (sorry, CWE) are treated now in Blender.
For example, VisRegions. Or Wavesets. Regions. DrawFlags. All that stuff that had to be written with AlcScript in 1.6.
So, is there a chance to get a working PyPRP2 version, just to have a look at this?

Re: Blender 2.57
I've got a bundle ready, I just want to verify with Lontahv that he's ready for a release - it's his project, after all. If I don't hear from him within a day or two I'll just go ahead and do the release, though.
Wavesets and visregions aren't supported yet. We're still working on making sure the core features that we have now are stable and ready to go before we start piling things on top of them. If we get good feedback on the general direction of the UI so far, we'll start adding more awesome stuff.
