Yes sorry I should've been more specific--this is just when Linking to Ahra Pahts.

I've tried deleting the files and re-installing from a newly downloaded version, but no success. Also, I've never had the Age before on this URU installation so it's not an old version causing problems.

Huh...

The only other thing I can think of is to check that you had copied the SDL file and the PAK file into the proper folders.

Nevermind, just a SUM error, I updated it with UruFun and it worked fine.

Also ditto: linking to this version of Ahra Pahts causes a Crash To Desktop everytime.

I have no idea how to fix a SUM error.

Wondering how common this problem is, as when Nadnerb released his small teaser Age, someone was also having a CTD and saying "your game files are currupt" error (which is not true). It also turned out to be the sum file that was messed up.

EDIT: I just downloaded UruFun and fixed the Phats.sum file (it said it had to update 155 checksums).
Now I can link there just fine.

What sucked was trying to fine UruFun. It's like all the links to stuff like this over on the Cobb are dead.
The way I found it was googling, and clicking on a to a thread HERE! eheheh, a thread by Chacal!.

The .sum file contains a list of the Age's .prp files, and a modified timestamp. If the file has been modified since that timestamp, then Uru will crash.

PlasmaShop has a built-in utility to update the .sum files, as does UruFun. If you're looking for the easiest way to keep everything working nicely, try UruSum.

Save the program, drop it in your Uru directory (in the same folder as UruExplorer.exe), then start a commandline in that folder and type

urusum <AgeName>

For Ahra Pahts, it would be "urusum Pahts"

Ran into a couple of bumps. First I had my personal age that I'm working on in book 1, had to move it out with ULM and put Alpha Phats there. Then I had to download UruFun 2.0 . In UruFun I navigated to the dat directory and selected phats.sum then click the update checksum box. That did it for me!

I did a search for UruFun and UruSum, so that I could fix the .sums in Pahts and the only links I can find go to cobbs which as Kato said are dead links. Does anyone have a good link?
