You may need an extra step in there... You might have to "uninstall" the game (make sure you've moved your game files first) before doing a fresh one. Since you've moved the files, the uninstaller will change nothing, although the system will think you don't have Uru installed. Then simply do the fresh install and you'll be good to go.
And it has been truly irritating with UruSetup.exe, as Windows 7 flags it as an installer of sorts (the word "setup" apparently automatically makes anything an installer. Go figure)

The cover images of the new ages like minkata, pods, etc. all seem to have an offset of 4px to the left.
- clarification: Show Spoiler

first is with regular offset, second with my modified version
(I color-swapped the pod cover before, but that doesn't matter here)
if this was already mentioned I'm sorry, was to lazy to search.

I never noticed that, thanks! Could you email them to me at ddbernardATsasktelDOTnet? (I'll make sure Diafero gets them too.)

I doublechecked everything, and Minkata is the only correct one, making it even weirder.
well, "you've got mail!" anyway.
EDIT: the texturing of the books is "a bit" bad, all spines/sides seem to lay the texture slightly diagonaly. all in all it makes it really difficult to adjust a cover properly.
"Bad UV-mapping is bad". yeah.

I didn't get it and it's not in my spam box either. Perhaps you could try sending me just a plain email without the pictures first, and we can see if that works? Email can be flaky sometimes :P

Ok, I got the images and will put them into the next Offline KI.
Since you obviously figured out how to do it right, do you think these instructions could be updated - or is it impossible to be so precise because the UV mapping is too different?
Creating a book cover:
The image must be 512x512 pixel in size. The cover itself has a size of 127x291 pixel.
The top left corner of the cover is at pixel 18,106
The bottom right corner is at 145,397
Some books have one pixel more in one or two directions, so I'm not 100% sure about these values. You can use one of the other covers as template.

ok, after comparing it to some covers I would say it's more 128 x 292 [makes more sense due to 128=2^7 and 292=2^7+2^6]
top left: 22,105
bottom right: 150x397
[both coordinates are taken from the testmap in my image and match the "X+4px" - rule]
oh, and a little example of the UV-stuff:
- image Show Spoiler

red: spine
green: front
The 4px part they BOTH share is really strange,
and don't forget about the fact that the sides of the spine are "leaning"
[load this image as cover to see for yourself]

Wow, thanks, I'm going to add this to the online documentation

What do the 9 fields with the number mean, seeing they don't match up with the spline or the front border?
EDIT: Done, see

its a UV testmap, numbers are for orientation purposes. original File is 1000x1000px, can be used for any stuff like this.
I often use this to see how textures are stretched/etc. . (that's the reason why they were made in the first place as far as I know)
examples:
Testmap 1Testmap 2EDIT: it's good to have this in the background, even if it reduces the visibility of the overlay part, because it shows best how shifted the lower part of the spine is.
