I already got my approval for hosting a Volcano UU shard. Bad thing they didn't give me a reference number.

So, the subject of their reply did not contain a number, e.g. "Re: P012345 Approval for ..."? I guess as long as you have the date of the reply and the subject, they can look it up in their sent messages if needed.
Can we rebuild it? Yes, we can - here's how.

Since Starfyre has received her approval from Cyan, what is left to do?

Pretty much on my end just the money. Myridean is sending money today for the server. With hers and my contributions we still need $30 to setup the server. And $35/month for the server costs. Once I have the money for at least the first month then I will go ahead and get the server.

I don't know much about "servers," but I have a high speed internet connection and a spare computer that I could dedicate solely to Uru. Could that be a "server"?

I doubt seriously that a PC would handle the capabilities. Could I be wrong yes. But unlikely. Also you would need Unix/Linux on your computer. You probably have Windows. The UU server software is picky it wants Unix/Linux servers.

Since it's a spare computer, I would not mind wiping the hard drive and then installing Linux on it. But you may be right about its capabilities--I have no idea how much "power" something has to have to work as a server.

We'll keep it mind Stanhin as maybe an offsite backup. I haven't decided yet there.

[quote="Starfyre"] Will Cyan allow Volcano on D'mala. In the short term I doubt it. They would want to test it out first. And even then they still might not.

No, (I'm not sure if I'm even allowed to post this) the EULA for releasing fan ages says fan-run shards in it, so i'm guessing not D'mala.
