Blender and Max are very different softwares.. The interface, the workflow, the whole way of working, it's all very very different. Obviously Max has much more features, and if you are proficient with it you'll get much more out of it than Blender. On the other hand Blender is free and it's hard to beat that.
With some good documentation both are equally easy/hard to learn. But it's more important to have some good documentation with Max because it is much more intimidating at first.
If you are 'serious ' about 3D and have a really good opportunity to acquire Max, it might be interesting; but first I'd suggest you try both to get a sense of what they are. (You can download a 30 days trial version of Max at Autodesk's site.)

None of us have ever used Cyan tools; but it's safe to assume that they are more advanced than our beloved PyPRP. The big difference between Max plugins and Blender scripts is that MAx plugins are much better integrated in the interface. So they don't have to use convoluted schemes like Alcscript and properties; it's all buttons, checkboxes and sliders..Uru wrote:URU was designed on Max. This provokes me to think that the tools may be easier to use than with Blender (even after the programmers here get their hands on the source.)
