Ooh, nice! Now we won't be so alone when visiting Rell-too.
Can't wait to meet them in person!

Can we rebuild it? Yes, we can - here's how.

Re: Chain letter age
I ran by Ametist. She wore a lab coat and raised crooked fingers towards the stormclouds, while gulping out the words: "It's aliiiive!", between fits of frankly quite disturbing laughter. I have no idea what that was all about, but it's bound to be good!
Thank you for your contribution Ametist. :)
Next up is Ardent red, then Core43.
As usual, the links in the first post in this thread have been updated to the latest version.

Okay, it's on UAM now! And I see that Perle's cave has been fixed again, thanks!

Re: Chain letter age
I'm really sorry, but can Core43 go and then me? I have exams all of this week, so I don't really have time for using the computer >_>

Re: Chain letter age
I really like this age, though it has a bit too much pink for my taste
Nevertheless I have some comments for possible improvements or bugs:
- When I am near these funny little bugs on the 3rd island I hear some strange garbage noise from my speakers... it sounds more like random bits in a sound file than like rock-biting so I think something went wrong there
- The ground of the islands is very slidy which is kind of annoying as you can not stand still - besides this age I only have such problems in very, very old ages (like Janga or Jonae)
- When I leave the elevator at the top and the link out, I have to way to call it back...

@Ardent red:
Done! If Core43 turns out to be a student, too, I guess we're about to wrap around and then it's my turn, muahaha. :7
@diafero:
*chokes back laughter in panic*
That rockbiting/microphone-scratching sound is what was provided, both as wav and ogg.
It can be replaced of course (..as can the colour scheme) - got a good sample of stone being crushed lying around? :7
You know - the Rell-too base IS actually that old and retains its old slippery friction settings unaltered from alcprp days. It annoys me too, actually, but I keep forgetting to adjust it. :P
The elevator does not even have a SDL flag at the moment, so it behaves erratic in more ways than one. :) I suppose now that Robert has added an SDL file, I'm going to have to explore that whole hornets nest. :7
Have you seen the pieces of canvas in the lower cave? They are supposed to be an airflow throttle -- when the elevator has all its intended scripting in place, "opening" that throttle will be a condition for getting the elevator to rise and then you are supposed to be able to call it back down, by closing the throttle again.
...unless someone changes something... :9
EDIT: (..and currently there is no longer any real incentive to go to the top, after other, easier ways off the tower have been provided.) Suggestions, such as those you gave, are valid entries from participants, by the way... :9

Re: Chain letter age
Being the 'creator' of the bugs (
I'm not a god I promise! ) I actually used stones to create the sound, but of course I can do a new recording!
You see, those critters have a lot of very small, tiny teeth, covering the 'muscle' underneath it's body ,by which it crush the rock into powder, then it kind of sucks that powder into its belly (with some kind of mouth which I haven't discovered yet ....

Wow, I didn't know that one. CoolYou know - the Rell-too base IS actually that old and retains its old slippery friction settings unaltered from alcprp days. It annoys me too, actually, but I keep forgetting to adjust it.

I don't understand that one, sorry.and currently there is no longer any real incentive to go to the top, after other, easier ways off the tower have been provided
I'm sorry but I can't even handle Blender. It could well be that in near future I have a lot of time though in which case I might start learning it and then perhaps also give this project a trySuggestions, such as those you gave, are valid entries from participants, by the way... :9

@ametist:
Ah! But your denial of godhood actually proves it. *worship*
Great to hear that we have actual foley efforts going on here! :) (..although I must admit I too initially thought it was my loudspeakers crackling. :P)
Nice to hear more about the anatomy of the li'l critters - please do add such stuff in the synopsis file, or a new one called "fauna.txt" or something. Nobody seems to edit the synopsis, so to stuff SOMEthing into it, I've been adding semi-in-character notes every update... :7
@diafero:
At first, there was no cablecar to the neighbouring tower, so you were seemingly stuck on tower 1. There is however a cable hanging from the top of the tower, leading into the mist, with a (VERY unfinished) chair hanging from it -- to reach it you had to use the elevator. With the addition of the cablecar and the bridge, however, there are now few hard-to-reach places in the age. :7
I understand that you are busy as it is and am very grateful for the work you do to the benefit of us all! You highlight, however, my complete and utter failure at getting a certain message out: that it takes more than modelling to get an age done and that everybody does not need experience with a 3D package. Every writer, painter, coder, musician I try to get interested in agewriting falls back on the "..but I don't know Blender" arguement, disregarding that it doesn't take Blender to draw a blueprint or write a fictional lab report, or play the occarina. I do understand, of course, that they are simply trying to get rid of me. :)

Re: Chain letter age
where did you guys get the idea for that slug creature? It looks like it comes from a video game I once played.
Age looks good so far. keep it up
