It's already complete... that's the Maintainer's Nexus that you link to after completing a game on the Gahreesen Wall.
Well I'm an idiot.

As for the Guild Pub comments, the Guild Pubs give off a "lazy" vibe. They needed content to put out and went cheap way and re-textured the Watchers Sanctuary (a unique environment) and put out 5 "new places" all the same as each other all re-textured of the Watcher Sanctuary, the goal was to give people and guilds places to hang out, what it did was devalue the awesome environment of the Watchers Sanctuary, removed it's uniqueness.
It was a sign of how low Uru had sank, gone was the days where Cyan took time and care and crafted something fantastic, instead we got Guild Pubs.
That's not a path that builders should continue down, time, patience, care and consideration to D'ni the civilization and how things would fit in with D'ni should be taken into account.
I'm not gonna argue this except to say that...if you visit Gahreesen, in any version of Uru, it's not exclusively a maintainers age. The team rooms were used by both writers and maintainers. At least that's what the architectual style of those rooms suggest (the walls of the team rooms are decorated not with Maintainers symbols, but the pen logo of the Guild of Writers)
However I'm not above being critiqued and the look of the place is not set in stone, so i'm going to do some extra modeling and give it a more "Guild of Writers" look. Keep in mind though that there's very little you can do with a room that's basically an enclosed area with no doors and a book machine in it.

This is not true. While Gahreesen was used by the Writers and Maintainers for conferences, etc. the Age was a purely Maintainer facility. Gahreesen was an advanced scientific/military age setup by the Maintainers to develop more advanced technology. The writers had nothing to do with it, really.
That's right. We would have Writer's Guild EV suits if this were true!

Also, he is kind of right about the Guild Pubs. Anyway, why did you release a Guild Pubs concept if you dislike those Ages?

BTW I may have missed it but I never saw feedback regarding my ideas for how to "filter" the Age list in the interface by tag and/or author. How doable is this, and how interested are we in doing it?
I agree. That Nexus screen looks like it couldn't display color. It looks like a very good idea as is.

The Age viewer would be perfect with an adjustment mechanism, perhaps sliders that you would have to move to the left and to the right.

Hmm, yes. Some zoom sliders would be perfect. Or maybe, a panoramic view!

Just cause I don't like them doesn't mean I can't offer views for improving them. I'm not keen on the idea of having a GoW nexus but here I am.

OK. I thought for a second you hadn't made that site!
Two other things:
1. I'm adding a link to the
official wiki page for the Nexus to the first post in the thread.
2. Is it possible to make the book machine a different color (how about GoW red)?

Hokay, been thinking about this - if you're going to have a different nexus - we'll also need new nexus terminals for those Ages that want to register in that nexus =P
It'd be rather weird (and possibly immersion-breaking) to have a "normal" nexus terminal register in this new nexus. =P
The .blend would need to be available, and be under a license that allows its use in other Ages, by other people. It may also need a 3dsmax file of some sort, too. =)
The blender file must be able to be used without having to export in 3dsmax, and the 3dsmax file must be able to be used in 3dsmax without having to do things in something other than 3dsmax. =P

I disagree. Some might choose to put a terminal in their Ages and some might choose not to, and either way is fine. Even in Cyan's areas and Ages, not every place you could get to from the Nexus had a Link
back to the Nexus. Watcher's Sanctuary had no terminal at all, and Descent's was inactive. Jalak, Minkata, Ahnonay and Er'Cana could all be reached under "Personal Links" once they were discovered, and none of them had Nexus Terminals.
Because of Relto, Nexus terminals are unnecessary, but would be a nice convenience if people chose to implement them. I see the Writer's Nexus as an organizing tool for the Ages, so the important thing is to have lots of Links out, not lots of Links in. Even if the only Link to the Writer's Nexus is a Book in Relto, it would still be a much more convenient tool than the current method of lumping everything into one giant list in the original Nexus.

Yes, but you'll note - Ages where you /registered/ a link - all had nexus terminals, K'veer, and the city. Ages you already had a link - or got one on linking to it, didn't.
in Uru CC, Bevin and Kirel also had terminals to /register/ the link, as in - they weren't there originally. Where as in moul - they already existed in the nexus - and thus there was no terminal. =P
Personal Links acts differently, and has nothing to do with nexus terminals - only one "terminal" type thing touches it, and as far as I'm concerned, that one is awful for other reasons - its the only non-private instance in personal links.
There's a fairly simple ruleset - Ages where you do not have a nexus link by default, and do not get automatically on linking, or Ages with multiple nexus links that you do not get all of the links by default - have nexus terminals, which you can activate by going to that point, and registering the link - this'd be handy for reward Ages, if the Writer wants it that way.
We'll definitely /need/ to design one as part of this process, as it'd be silly not to have one that matches this new nexus - nobody /has/ to use it of course, but it /needs/ to be designed/created as part of the process.
If we want to do this - lets do it right, please.
