The texture I was referring to is not actually posted on the wiki, so I see how it might be a bit confusing. Lontahv made this dummy texture. It vaguely represents how the shores will be aligned once exported. UV map this so it looks like it does in the blender screenshot in the tutorial.

Ah! I see from the pic, that the alpha is added in the pic itself. I take it no Alpha Vertex Painting? I just tried that with my shore Edge and ended up with a export error.

Has anyone been taking notes on the settings? :D Playing around is fine (all though Zephyr takes a while to export), but I'd hate to do all the work someone else already did. Like for wave heights. Is there a setting for that?

Pic of what I've achieved so far:

I just reread the thread, but couldn't find anything about a problem I'm having. In 1st person the waveset freezes. At some angles it starts moving again. My card should be decent anough (ATI X1900XT 512) and CPU and memory can't be a problem.

Is this common at the moment?

ok ...I having problems with both "shores" and the "activator surfaces" ... and I am begining to wonder if it's my machine, rather than my mistakes ...

Basically , the "shores" just will not show ... I've spent 4 hours trying various things, but to no avail ...also the "activator surfaces", well, they KIND of work ... I can see my "ripple" texture, but it just flickers off almost immediatly it appears (no "animation" or anything) just a quick "flash" ... so it just looks wrong...

What I was wondering was ... does anyone have a small "test" Age with working shores and activators that I could download to check my machine is capable of displaying them ... then at least I'll know if it me that's doing things wrong (and not my machine's capabilities) .... cheers (I just want the Age files, not the blender file)
when it comes to Age creation ... "DOH" seems to be my middle name...

Well, for one thing, the tutorial on footsteps is not released yet, and is actually quite incorrect, in light of recent developments. If it doesn't have a link, don't trust it. ;)

Also, shores support does seem to be patchy. We have a number of other people who can't see shores at all, even though they work perfectly for others.

More news as it becomes available.

It's more random than that... I tried adding shores to my Pahts shell and it worked fine. Looked horrible (as if someone had dumped soap into a fountain), so I removed the shore. Still no problems.

Nadnerb sends me the exported files from his wiki tutorial, the waveset doesn't render at all.
Lonthav sends me a test file of his, again I don't see any waveset.

All of Cyan's wavesets work with no issues. My waveset in Pahts works with no issues.

If I send my Pahts file to others, they don't have issues. If Nad sends his files, the waveset often doesn't render. If those people take the .blend file and export it themselves, it will probably work fine.

Oh my... I just did it, created my first puddle :D Apart from my avi shadow standing on the wrong side of the lake and some VERY crude angles/textures/environment, the main thing is I've got water, YAY!
