Hehe, and here a conundrum from "Ms. Respect The IP Of Everyone Or I'll Open Up A Can Of Queen B*tch On Your Butt":
My entry into the contest is about at the halfway mark as of right now. I'm about to model the interior rooms of my little corner of the cavern and I'm stuck with a bit of a problem. One of the rooms is a "gambling" type hall of D'ni. I want to put into this room a set of Heek tables. Now since the Heek table is really only found in the hoods, and not a "staple" of D'ni. (it's not found in any other place than personal neighborhoods) I was wondering if anyone would have a problem with this since it seems to break the very rule I wanted instilled in this whole contest. The heek table itself is going to require a ton of wiring to even get it to work properly, and I want two-three of these in this room. Which means a LOT of work. So I'd be glad to scrub this off my hood for the contest. However...I'd really like to keep them as this room really fits into what the storyline of this area is all about. So i'm putting it to the other contestants to decide if A. I should use the heek tables. and B. Do you feel as if this breaks said rule.

You can't stop the truth. IC Blog
Re: DLC - D'ni Location (Creation) Contest
heek was a popular d'ni game and wasn't actually confined to just the hoods, upon a time there was one in the great tree pub.
Re: DLC - D'ni Location (Creation) Contest
I've withhold work on my own hood partly because of this too. :/
But I don't see why there couldn't be more heek tables throughout D'ni. For one thing we haven't seen much of D'ni outside the hoods and Ae'gura. Even the original Rolep/Guild pub design included a heek table. I don't think using them would break RAWA's guidelines (or the contest rules).

I'm in. Just finished the backstory of the place (more the backstory of the owner, but that's most of the interesting story anyhow).

note, however, that there have been *three* versions of the hoods >.>
Sadly, I also had to correct a typo that was "wo" which was then interpreted by Tweek, in his DLC post on inkwell as "one". So.. as i noticed it long after the contest had started -- it is now at the most lenient interpretation of the rule: "one" =/ (as that is the most "fair" way to deal with such an issue)
But, even at its most strict - "two or more" - Heek tables apply as acceptable. We have at /least/ two D'ni locations. It depends on how that in interpreted - files, or actual locations. =) I interpret as actual locations - else "files" allows for k'veer, and the great shaft, and ae'gura. (which you're welcome to interpret, as i do not hold a monopoly on interpretations =) ) However, if you interpret on /files/... neighborhood and neighborhoodmoul, etc. =)
I'd say heek tables are definitely a "staple of D'ni", and I apologise for noticing the typo so late.

Ah my bad, sorry I can change the post at inkwell if you want.
I think common sense applies here, heek would likely to be elsewhere when you think about it.

Don't worry Tweek, I'm not overly stressed about it. =)
If it was open to interpretation about that - and people have done actual work - lets... not change it more than the least strict interpretation of the typo. =) Its my fault entirely. =)

I'm also "in" as it were for this.
My entry will be somewhere beneath the Earth under New Mexico that was built by the D'ni. I've got about 25% of it built already. Back story will be delivered via a journal in the old DRC way, heh.

So, if I'm correct I count 7, possibly 8, D'ni locations projects to look forward to. August sound like it will be a nice month.

Re: DLC - D'ni Location (Creation) Contest
Heh, you would think the D'ni would have gotten bored of a game that is the gameplay equivalent of "Heads or Tails" without the coin :D
