Carrying on from Aloys post in the Ahra Pahts thread
Actually I have thought about another contest, the last one had its ups n downs, but I reckon we can setup another contest fairly soon.
In a private conversation with Trylon on the first RAD contest, we both wanted it to be themed, but in reality, because it was the first, it maybe too hinder some for many.
My personal feelings
- that a set Version of the GoW PyPrp be used, keeping it a level playing field eg GoWPyPrp200.zip
- not having people submit their blend files, which could have broken images (thats what I got when I tried Andys)
- be a single person effort this time (but what about music, I want to hear more music)
- id like to have this next contest be Ahra Pahts Shell themed, ie doing anything you want for Ahra
- NEED a set place to upload Ages/shells, idea for asking the GoMa for server space did cross my mind
- wait until ULM 2.0 is released making it easier for new comers to Ahra
- a sign up sheet for all participants to put their name down.
- same 2 week build, 1 week judge
- REWARD, no not talking about obtaining an FCL, but rather than a "Hall of Fame" and a picture gallery on the front page to the Guild of Writers.
- i'd like to hear from Cyantist(s) (may or may not be a judge) commenting on the entries
- id also like this to be like a bi-annual event every 6 months starting in July/June
My shell needs much much more work done on it and i'm busy in RL too, so I won't be able to enter this time around
Nothing is set, so this is an open discussion

Re: RAD July pre-contest discussion
Note:
I have no idea when ULM 2.0 will be finished - currently the client side hasn't received much attention due to my being busy and subsequently playing pokemon games.
That being said, ULM's design principles are currently under active (re)design, also inhibiting measurable progress temporarily.

One day I ran through the cleft for the fiftieth time, and found that uru held no peace for me anymore.

Oh man, Pokemon, now that was a hard addiction to get over (the original gameboy pocket version)
Yeah, those are just my feelings/thoughts on all those points i've mentioned

Oo, a new RAD contest? Excellent! I had a blast doing the last one, and look forward to being involved in the next one, regardless of whether I'm entering or judging or watching!
Re: RAD July pre-contest discussion
What Jishin said - I too had great fun with the last RAD as judge
It was a blast indeed!
If the contest-team decide to use some, or all, of the 'old' judges - I'm interested!

Re: RAD July pre-contest discussion
Providing I can figure out all the new stuff that's been added to PyPRP (including why Tromegahl won't work) in time, I'd love to contribute.

Re: RAD July pre-contest discussion
My advice would be to forego ULM entirely for submissions. This would avoid lots of frustrations from submitters.
Set up a FTP server with a separate account for each submitter. Have them upload zip files.
Shut the server down when the deadline is reached.
Then the contest organizer can post the Ages to ULM without pressure.
I can provide the FTP server if needed.

I'll try to get some of the stuff I made working fully for PyPrp.
Here are some of the new features in the svn.
Always-on footprints (good for sand etc.) *working*
Puddle-triggered footprints with avatar ripples in the puddle (use if you have a non-waveset puddle) *working*
Waveset connected triggered footprints (use if you have a puddle of water that is a waveset) *Still buggy; I'll try to iron out a few of the bugs today, should be working very well in a few days time at this time they are in my svn*
Ok, those are the very latest features.
Oh and benches, Nadnerb added that to trunk SVN too, there's a tutorial in the wiki.

This is not your personal "look-at-me-I'm-working-on-the-plugin" development journal. If you want one, ask the mods.
On topic, I fully support the idea of a contest FTP server to avoid hosting difficulties for all participants.

'k. Sorry I didn't mean to be like that. We should however have a thread somewhere that people can scratch down what is currently working with the pyprp.
Because some people ask what the current situation of the plugin is.
Oh well. Didn't mean to be rude... if anyone thinks I was, please forgive me.
