A concept...

Recently I was sitting with a group of TMP for our weekly Funday activities and we started discussing an idea for an age. I'd like to put the idea out there for those of you capable and possibly willing to conquer this concept. Maybe it's already in the works somewhere?

The Age:
Eder Tefoonet (Memorial Garden)

It would be a serene garden where we can go and reflect on loved ones that have passed on. There'd be a fountain (symbol of Uru community and friendship) and some sort of thoughtful dedication plaque honoring our loved ones. Possibly sculptures spread throughout the garden representing those influencial individuals that have passed on?

If there is already an age like this in the works then please forgive me. Figured it's better to put the idea out there and find out one way or the other, than to be risky and not suggest it at all.

Thank you for your time,
GF

I have been working on an age for the last few years called Tefoonetahn (the word Tefoonet came out to the public through my work on the Age) that is a memorial Age/garden for fallen explorers.

Memorial stone concept

Work on it has been slow due to me being pretty busy and to the fact that I heavily redrew the concepts of the Age (I wasn't happy with the old ones) as well as the layout (made it a lot larger).

AWESOME, Tweek!!
We must've been channeling you during that conversation. hehe

Well, I do like your stone concept.
I hope you don't mind me suggesting something and of course feel free to toss the idea altogether but...

What do you think of turning the stone into multiple versions of an androgenis form? Maybe have the glowing orb in the center 'heart' area with different options of color, depending on who the statue represents? If your open to the idea, I could draw up some concepts for ya. Just let me know.

The orb was just a firemarble (blue for real explorers, green for characters). The form of the memorial stones was one of the first items I came up with and has remained consistent through out the redesigns of the Age. I wanted it to echo the more primitive aspects (bahro caves, bahro glyphs etc) that we have encountered throughout our journey.

Tweek can you post more concept art? Sounds like a great project. I might be interested in working on this :)

That's exactly what came to mind when I first looked at it. How similar it looked to other stones we see in D'ni (relto calendar).
But I wasn't sure if that shape was 'set in stone' (ugh.. i just made myself cringe) or if you were still searching for ideas on it.

Anyway, you're doing a great job and I don't want to crowd you.
If there's anything I can help with feel free gimme a holla.

I just wanted to say how much I love your concept, Tweek! (also Gentlefire. I don't want to leave you out in the cold!)

I was wondering what sorts of designs you were doing for the "mandalas" or combination-D'ni-seals. You probably remember me doing a bunch of those a while back, but we all have slightly different styles. Would it help to have links to my old mandalas?

I would still like to put some time into this concept. Is there more to see yet? Can we somehow get this train moving?

Tweek, any ideas on this?

Grtz

8-) Ha guys I would be glad to write a story for this age that we have as a memorial site.

@Gadren - The stones work with a simple mandala motif that K'laamas designed a while ago.

@Marcello - All the concepts and mapping for the Age has been completed, little of it is on my computer however as I have a sketch book devoted to my Age designs.

I do have however a rough concept drawing for part of the gardens that I did in 2004:

@robbieagray - The Age has very little storyline to it, and what storyline it does have has already been written to be placed in the Ages book of commentary.

I appreciate people's desire to help, however creatively I am a solo worker, this is mainly due to my desire for things to be just right [read: perfectionism] a trait that doesn't really go down well in group situations. This Age is one I really want to get right, if it means taking my time on it then so be it.
