I saw the following video today...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1MuK9W-v6IAnd it blew my mind. However, I can't figure out what program it is. Does anybody what the program is? And, even better, where I could download it?

Actually it looks like a fairly possible thing to make actually (not super easy, but not on the scale of years if you have good programmers).
Also, I just discovered that OpenGL has built-in stencils today... DUH... well I guess I didn't quite put two and two together before. Those tools for sculpting the land they had have been around for quite a while (see my sig for details

). Also, I'm almost certain that it wouldn't be that hard to paint stencils and have them display as such (this would be like the texture-painting they had in the vid). As for prefab stuff... you can't code your way out of this problem (therefor I have little input).
So, in theory we _could_ make something like that for Uru. It'd be lots of work but if we had a small highly-skilled team we could get something cool pretty quickly.
If we do want to have something like that for fan-content rests on someone initiating a project like that. I'm going to take a whack at the problem a little bit... or at least take a whack at C++ (I am pretty familiar with OpenGL from Blender's BGL thing).
That program really gave me a lot of ideas (much better than getting the thing... with its problems; restrictions, Java (people of Java *please* do not kill me

)

, etc.).
Thanks for posting here AtionSong.

OMG: They've killed Gumby!!!
I remember when NCsoft was a biggish shareware developer.
What really worries me is that some day computers will just boot into jvm.
Are these random thoughts disjointed enough?
