Drizzle21 (includes UruAgeManager)

Post by ddb174 »

Okay, the new version of Drizzle has been released, and has some great new conversion stuff! It is a tool that does numerous things, including downloading/installing Fan Ages, and converting Moul/Myst5/Crowthistle Ages for play in Uru.

The official page with installation instructions, walkthroughs and screenshots for the Ages, and a more detailed description is here: http://alcugs.almlys.org/Drizzle

You can download it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/drizzle/files/drizzle/Drizzle21.jar/download

New features:
-Dutch translation.
-The storm page is now converted, and you can collect it properly.
-The mushroom page can now be collected properly.
-The cleft pole page is now converted, and can be collected properly.
-All sparklies and Calendar island are now converted.
-Now notifies you when you download the Age list, and there is a version of Drizzle newer than yours available.
(A number of these require the soon-to-be-released Offline-KI before you can see the changes, but you can go ahead and reconvert now!)

New advanced features:
-Command-line interface for people using Drizzle who hate GUIs.
-Ability to diff two prps, which may be handy for UruDistro.
-Ability to change Agename/SequencePrefix on Pots prps.
-Cleans up file handles which was giving Linux users some trouble.

Bug fixes:
-Reduced memory usage a bit, and may fix the probably some users had where Drizzle would not start.

Thanks to GPNMilano, for her work on Yeesha pages(I've automated her changes into Drizzle now), thanks to Erik for the Dutch translation, and thanks to DRayX, Chacal, and Nanouk for helping me test stuff! The Drizzle team includes OldWolle with Age collection and mirroring, L.K. with the German translation, Chacal with the French translation, Erik with the Dutch translation, and myself with coding.

Enjoy!

Thank you ever so much for the continuing efforts by all of the contributors. This makes the waiting that little bit more bearable. :)

Do we have to convert MOUL ages again to get sparkles or should we wait till new offline ki to be released.

the sparklies are converted with Drizzle21 already, you have to wait for the new OfflineKI to make them visible

You could convert before having the Offline-KI, either way is fine. Enjoy!

I have a question about the Pods. I looked at the prediction time as in drizzle, which it said the Dereno Pod was to show the portal at 4:18:19 EDT 8/1/2009. I waited from 4:00- 4:30 and no portal showed. I was wondering if there is any other way to get to the Pod caves to collect the stones for Relto. Using Drizzle 21 and Offline KI 2.9

Edit: woops my bad Drizzle does have the right time. That was supposed to be 4:18:19 EDT 8/1/2009 in the morning. Sorry for the confusion.

This is great! Thanks to everyone who contributed!

I only discovered the new drizzle when I got the new offline KI and started looking around for info about it. The whole drizzle system rocks! What a great tool.

Ohhh....the Sparklies are back! Thank you SO much! I had collected 11 when the cavern last closed, and the 12th Sparklie was the one that didn't work. Excellent update!

I'm having some trouble actually loading drizzle21.jar. I was able to start DrizzlePrp.jar, but not Drizzle21.jar. When I try to load Drizzle21.jar, nothing happens. I'm running XP SP3, and I have Java 6.14 (whichever is most recent). Thus, I cannot convert the MOUL ages. How do I increase the heap size like what the suggestion that comes with that error message talks about?
