NOTE: The author's first language is Spanish, so try to overlook the grammar.

For anyone wanting to model better buildings, I recommend looking into this. the texturing system is easier in Sketchup than Blender, as far as in-organic creations go.

If anyone wants, I could write some really excellent tutorials for modeling and texturing in Sketchup.

Hmm, that actually looks interesting at first glance

 Just realized, I should probably post a link to Sketchup

http://sketchup.google.com/download/

The link on the BIG BLUE BUTTON is the professional version, and costs a fair bit of money, but underneath it is a blue hyper-link, it's free and works just as well as the Pro Version.

Sooo... Shall I write some tutorials, then?

That looks like a neat tool. I'm downloading it now. If the models import into blender, then export well into Ages - you may really have something here!

For starters, I'd recommend downloading and going through this tutorial file: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... revstart=0

It will walk you through the basics better than I could using pictures. I'll start working on a tutorial for more advanced modeling and a little bit of texturing sometime before next week.

After the first tutorial, if you don't want to wait for me to post again, you should try using these:

Can you confirm that the free sketchup has the export function. I remember that last time I used sketchup the export was missing from the free one. :?

Yes, the free version has the export function, but it's changed a bit since the tutorial above.

All you need to do now is go file>export>3d model>Collada. No need to mess with the zipped folders.

I'll have a tutorial for using Sketchup posted by the end of next week.

*edit* (I'm going to make the tutorial for creating Myst's library, so if anyone has any unusual/rare reference images for it, it would help with the accuracy. )

Update.

My grades in school just took a major drop, so I'm gonna have to postpone the tutorials till I get them back up.
