Free Textures!

Post by Carl Palmner »

Recently I've been working on a lot of repeating textures for use in 3d applications, just as a hobby. Since I don't know if I ever will get around to writing any actual Ages for Uru, I thought I'd make these available to other Writers so that, at the very least, they don't go to waste.

All of these are completely free to use (non-commercially, of course), no strings attached. All I ask is that you please let me know if you decide to use any of my textures in your Ages--that way I can have a look at the Age when you're done and see what the textures look like in a finished project :)

All textures are in my Photobucket Album. They range in size from 300x300 to 3000x3000, and contain everything from basic grass and sand to stone and metal tiles to bizarre stuff that I don't even know how to describe.

Enjoy!

EDIT: I'd also really appreciate any feedback (both positive and negative) that you guys may have. I unfortunately have partial color-blindness so some of my colors may be off--if so, please don't hesitate to tell me!

EDIT2: Just added a new one. I'll probably do that fairly often from now on, so check back regularly...

Thanks a lot ! That should be very useful. Fan-ages often use not enough textures, and it is very hard to find some when you don't know how to do it yourself.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, the "I have no idea" one was just me goofing around with Photoshop, using random filters and stuff. I honestly can't think of any scenario in which that one would work in an Uru Age, but if someone manages to find a good home for it, be my guest.

I play with Photoshop fairly regularly so I'll probably put a new one up every couple of days or so, at least until I get bored with it.

I've added several more since the last post--doing a lot with wood textures now.

BTW, if anyone ever has any requests, feel free to post them here. I can't guarantee I can do everything but I'll do my best.

Those wonderfull Worlds are called " Ages" , because that is what it takes to build one.
