Can't link in to Gehn shard

Greetings Keepers of the code

I have an interesting problem. There are times when I can not link in to ages or areas. I get a ping and then am out of the game. The message that shows up is "Unable to create file/ Bahrocave.fni" or Nexus.fni or Avatarcustomization.fni or watchers pub.fni etc. If I reinstall over top the problem goes away till I access the shard the next time where the problem reappears and then I have to reinstall again. When a buddie was over she was able to link in to an age but I could not (slightly embarrassing as host). I am running Windows 7 and 64 bit. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

You will want to set your Gehn shortcut to run as an administrator. This can be done by right-clicking on the shortcut, selecting "properties", going to the "compatibility" tab, and checking "Run this program as an administrator" near the bottom.

Unlike MOULa, which does all of its patching at once, Gehn does patching per-age at link time. This means there's less to download to get started (yay!), but the game will need to write files during your play time. It's safest to always run as administrator when playing Gehn.

We're evaluating ways to make this easier for players in the future, but the Windows 7 security model really wasn't designed with self-patching programs like MMOs in mind.

It works! No problems after two game link ins. No problems (so far fingers crossed) trying to access various ages. Thanks a whole lot

The simplest solution is to NOT install the game in Program Files. Remember that GT MOUL always installed it in another directory called ProgramData for Vista installations. This solves all the restrictive permissions imposed on Program Files and subdirectories under it. This is still true for Windows 7.

Ahhh, that's why I never had to give special authorization as of Uru/MOUL installations, I have
them all installed (also MOULa) on a special partition ... I might have guessed that myself ...

Thanks for the quick reply, you guessed right The only thing is that I had deleted my Er'cana book and i still am not able to reset the age
