We are currently having trouble with the server, and we are not sure what exactly it is caused by. We will probably have to inform our hoster and ask him to look at t, since I am quite sure that it's not a problem in our setup.
Until we get this done, the Shard might crash more often than usual - sorry for the inconvenience.

Any news on the shard status? I've got an itch to link into the unknown

Unfortunately not - so far, our provider is unable to reproduce the issue.

I linked between the 22nd & the 26th with ease.

I had downtimes with one of my 2 PCs linking to ages but for the other one it was smooth as usual. I think you should maybe try login in you might be impressed.

So you can always try and see if it is working out for you

If the server crashes badly, that means that until someone restarts it, there will be no logins at all

It should be back up though.

At least the long downtimes should be fixed now - I added a watchdog to the server which automatically checks each 30 minutes whether the Shard is still running, and if it is not, restarts it.

The server will go down for some hours soon - we are doing some more testing.

Unfortunately I have not been able to log into Deep Island since about 8pm GMT yesterday. I get a message which reads :-
"Login failed: Unspecified server error."

Could you please tell me if there is a problem with the server?
Or advise me on what to do to rectify this situation.
There is another Buddy who resides in different country to mine who is having the same problem.

I am running WinXP SP3 and have not encountered this problem before.
