hello everyone,
Kirk and I have just discovered Pre Swaltu. We have seen several buttons around the age, and there is a console with 7 coloured buttons, close to the starting point, but neither of them seems to be working. Is it supposed to be so or are we missing something ?

Almost every buttons in that age are non-functional. The only panel with working buttons are the ones to control the moving objects at the bottom of the huge cavern you first link in. The lifts are non working. There are others working features outside.
That age is very huge. There are secret paths which lead to other secret paths etc. There are plenty of locations to visit within Pre-Swaltu. There are : a maze, a giant crystal, a pendulum (you need it to go forward on your journey), an ice field, mountains, the ever moving colourful objects, the library with no book in it, weird caves, weirder passages from one location to the other, icetrack stadium, awesome "high above everything rides" with on-track vehicles (3 of them, blue, red, & green).
This age is the greatest test of dexterity of any. You need to cross at vertigineous heights on small sliding poles, you have to find the way to use the pendulum at your advantage, the high above everything on-track vehicles are wild means of transportation too. The only things we really miss there are sound & music; there are none. I like the silliness of that whole age. It reminds me of the flair of weird movies of the sixties (Casino Royale 1967, Modesty Blaise 1966) where you were sure of one thing, they had "good times, real good times" making those movies...

Oh, Pre Swaltu... I remember exploring that age with some friends, what, 6 years ago or so.... I didn't have much sleep that night, since the age took us much longer than expected 
But we enjoyed it a lot. I hope you do, too! Don't expect beautiful graphics or realistic animations or a sound atmosphere. But expect lots of fun places to discover, and fun
