Gehn installer freezes and crashes during install

Good evening

Wednesday last week after installing a security update for Windows 8.1 from Microsoft on my laptop Windows would not boot and after trying various options I had no choice but to do a reset and re-install all my programs. During the reset a copy was made of my 'Program Files(X86)' folder. I copied my Gehn directory back into the 'Program Files(X86)' folder. I was able to sign in but Gehn crashed while downloading a female avatar clothing file. I ran Gehn repair but sadly I rfeceived the same result so I deleted the entire Gehn folder in 'Program Files(x86)' and in 'Apps/local/Uru - Gehn Shard'. I tried re-installing Gehn but during the install the installer keeps freezing and crashing.

Does anyone have any advise for me on how I can resolve this. I play mainly on my Windows 7 desktop where I do not have any issues.

It looks like you haven't updated the installer you're using (I see Gehn 18's patcher in your screenshot). Please be sure to use the latest Gehn Installer as we've made a few very important fixes since you initially downloaded it a couple of years ago.

If that doesn't help, my guess here is that being a fresh system you're missing some of Microsoft's framework libraries. I'd suggest installing the available options through Windows Update, if any, and see if that helps.

I had the same problem with my version on Windows 10. I ran it with administrator privileges, reinstalled it, repaired it, and tested compatibility, but it would always crash at the login screen before I could even type anything in.
I've attached my systems DxDiag, and hope this problem can be solved.

Hmm, that doesn't sound like the same problem at all.

I don't see anything unusual in the DXDiag. Is this a fresh install, using a recently-downloaded copy of the installer?
