3ds Max 7-8?

Hi there! I'm Shanat.
I'm new here, but a long time fan of Myst. Recently I decided to try and create an age but I can use just 3ds max. I searched the Autodesk website but they say you can download 3ds max from 2015 to 2018, while you need 3ds max 7 or 8 to create ages. Can you help me? I don't know where I can find that version. Or is there any possibility to use the last 3ds max?
Sorry for my bad english and thanks for all the help you can give me!

I've used Blender to make ages although a friend of mine used 3ds Max 7 along with Cyan's pluggin to make his ages. You will also need the latest version of Drizzle. Here is a link to get you started:

Shorah!
Thanks for the reply. To say the truth my problem is to find 3ds max 7: it’s an old version and I can’t find it on the autodesk site. I installed drizzle and I downloaded the plugin but it seems it doesn’t work with the new 3ds max.

This is not entirely correct. You need a version of the plugin which was built specifically for the version of 3DS Max you wish to use (they all have different SDKs). As far as I know, the 3DS Max plugin works for
all versions between Max 7 and Max 2012. Later than Max 2013 is a problem because they only support 64-bit plugins, and Plasma is not yet 64-bit compatible (along with lacking a 64-bit PhysX compatible with the engine).
If you want a free way to create Ages, I would recommend learning to use
Blender with our plugin
Korman. It is being actively maintained and developed, and works with the latest version of Blender (both 32- and 64-bit).

I see! That’s why it didn’t work! I’m 64-bit. Thank you very much! I’ll try to learn blender.
Have a nice day!
