How about monumental cliffs on all sides (ones which reach up as high as mountains - either there's something special about the light source of the planet of the area, or they have very long nights), save for a couple ravines ...

Re: Realistic looking grass
The only thing about X-forms is when you look from them from about, you won't see them.
So it would be kind of empty if you ever look down. It's one of those tricks in gaming that has it's downside

Re: Realistic looking grass
1.000.000 faces for realistic looking object these day's is nothing but normal. ( for example the characters of the Game Gears of War )
And the discussion has gone beyond the point if you want to use a lot of polygons for just grass.

Just a friendly reminder that System Requirements for URU where:

I think we can say that computer development did not stay still and that the average computer is better then in 2003.

@Wamduskasapa
Listened to a couple of those files, and must stay they sound pretty good !
@ N. Sigismund
Always nice to have another modeler, and I looks pretty good what you made on the pictures a saw on the forum.
I don't have any skill on plasma encoding so we should ask one of the programmers

Re: my age is black?
What program are you working with ? 3dsmax or blender ?
With 3dsmax I would ask
- did you use the plasma textures, if not the objects get the color that they get when they are created in 3dsmax.
- To light up your age you need Omni light's, not the lights from plasma

Gmax is indeed the "student" version of 3dsmax, but I have no idea if the plugin works with it.
And you will miss out on certain features 3dsmax has, that Gmax won't have.
And since Autodesk is not selling any licenses of max 7, it's pretty hard to get these day's
