Classic not thinking it through-itis

It was a simple fix, I just went back to the previous working version. Thankfully I learned the hard way to save and test every new addition instead of doing bulk work then testing, that way if there is an unfixable error, I wont loose too much data.
Thank you for pointing that out...if I hadn't brought it to the forum and you hadn't responded, I may have repeated the mistake in the future and have been stuck at the same problem

note to self: combining several objects with high numbers of vertices: Bad idea.
Side not to self: Duh.
