Age Registration

General debates and discussion about the Guild of Writers and Age creation

I added this to the topics for discussion tomorrow. We'll cover it last, so any Maintainers who want to leave, can, since it doesn't really concern them unless they Write. :)

Well there's the fact that we don't control it.[/quote]
But it's a Wiki. :) Anyone can go and delete everything. Although, that would be a bit brutal. A nicer way would be to add a warning text at the top of the page saying "This page is now an archive, please use the new List at the GoW forums; yadadada, merry christmas".

 He, he, he.

I don't know if anyone remembers how this discussion got started, but for those of you who do, I just got my confirmation e-mail.

I just got mine, too, Greendragon. I suspect Almlys was away for a short period. No biggie. :) But I think the issue still stands, and we'll discuss it today at the meeting.

This discussion is over a month old, but Bob just (rightfully) pointed me here again.
I wasn't able to attend that meeting, and I don't think a log was published (if there was one I didn't see it). Was a consensus reached?
I'm all for going with our own list, although I think we'd need some tools to do so. (either on ULM's site with tiny changes, like Bob suggests, or simply on the Wiki here).
One thing I find really nice with the ULM system is that it delivers numbers automatically, and there isn't a public list. What's so nice is that it avoids people choosing numbers that they like and we end up with a mess of the list like there is at Alcugs, with numbers suddenly jumping from 200 to 5000 etc.

I notice that the Sequence Prefix tutorial page on the Wiki here still points to the Alcugs list, so it looks like we need to make sure to reach a consensus about all this and clean out old links like this one.

I remember that there was talk creating a second more current list that started with 10,000 to avoid conflicts with Alcugs Wiki. I also seem to remember that there was talk of integrating the whole process as part of ULM, but for the life of me I can't remember what the final decision was. I seem to remember only making it to the second half of the meeting.
