Yes, I'm with Kedri on this one.

And yeah, we can do surveys manually -- but it's more awkward, less efficient, and probably garners fewer responses. The easier something is, the more people will do it, and it's a lot easier for someone to reply by ticking a box and clicking a button than making a whole post where they have to scroll up and down matching up questions and answers. Then those have to be compiled for results, etc...

Hey, I'd vote in a poll for implementing a poll feature, if I could!

EDIT: Umm, did anyone else notice that we can already make polls, but only in the project forums?

Okay, so apparently polls are considered as dangerous for possible spam abuse...

Has anyone here ever seen a spambot make a poll? Didn't think so.

*enables the feature that should have been on from the beginning* :P

Heh, I figured phpbb3 would have to have poll options.. :P
We'll have to ask the admin to get them enabled.

And I don't know where Pryftan is suddenly getting the idea of a moderator election from. That has got to be the worst way to pick moderators, aside from totally randomly. Ideally, this place shouldn't need that much moderation anyway, and if it does, then more will be picked.

..what?

I'm not saying like, a popularity contest. I'm just saying people should have some choice in the manner instead of being annointed by people behind the curtain. That should be uh, kinda obviously necessary. It's not my idea, it's been mentioned tons of times at meetings and at various places on this board.

Perhaps we should have a poll about that? ;)

It doesn't matter to me if I am asked by an admin, or voted in by election. The only thing that matters is that I feel confident enough to fill the roll. For this board I do.

I also feel Pryftan is (and will be) doing a great job as well.

We had heard that some people thought it would be a good idea to vote in the moderators. So when we took the positions we didn't want to step on anyones toes and Pryftan mentioned that.

My personal thoughts are that Moderators should be picked by the admin running the board as well. Since you will need to trust and rely on these people, it is usually best to pick those you feel will do the best job. Like in the real world, when you hire someone.

Double posting I know but I feel this suggestion needs to be said.

We should have separate sections for other languages. It seems we already have some German, and French friends showing interest, and I do know that more will find their way here.

So I would like to see some new areas open up for them, with their own native speaking mods (they should be mods for the whole board too). :D

Thank you Old Wolfe.
