Good show, Owen.
How did you get two suns on the left side of your universe and one on the right?

There are two suns: one on the left and one on the right. The one on the right was there from the beginning, so to get the one on the left I went to object mode (tab), right-clicked on the sun to select it, then pressed Shift-D to duplicate it. After that it can be positioned like any other object.

Hmmm; you did say, Make a telescope, right?

Or was it a new canon – by which to restore all things URU?

Anyway, i never could grow trees or catch fish. Says something about my character, i think. And looks like i'll have to add 'coloring' to that negatives list.
In my 'Links and Pipelines' window, i have no 'Add New' buttons.
I did last time i colored (always between the lines of course), but now, i only get Add New when i click on the little arrows left of 'MA:Material' which is under the heading, 'Link to Object'.

This too difficult for my fragile brain right now. I'll try it again tomorrow.
Thanks for the new lesson, Jennifer. How do you like my cannon? It will knock off a moose at 3000 yds.... may scatter the meat a bit, though. Still, easier to carry out I should think, if its already hamburger.

Good job on your trees Owehn! I like how you added a little branch like that, nice touch. :)

In my 'Links and Pipelines' window, i have no 'Add New' buttons.

Hm, interesting... :) Tell me, are you trying to color the original cube you are automatically provided with? I don't get any "Add New" button when I try to color the original cube (probably because it already has a material automatically provided by Blender), but I do get an "Add New" button for any new objects that I create. At any rate, it should be fine to use the "ADD NEW" option in the menu you get when you click the arrows to the left of "Ma:Material." Just click "ADD NEW", and select a color in the gray rectangle like you normally would. :)

And I do like your telescope canon--you should patent it as a time-saving device that saves you the trouble of having to grind moosemeat into hamburger for hours on end! :D "The Telescope Canon--don't leave home without it! It not only kills your game, it also dresses it and converts it into hamburger all in one easy step! Buy it now, any we'll include a free laser sight guaranteed to tell good Bahro from bad Bahro! So don't delay, call us now at 1-800-MYSTFPS for your free trial!" :P

If you already have a material on your object, the "Links and Pipeline" section will look like this:

Next to the place where it has the name of the material (for me it says "MA:Material.002") there's a tiny button. When you click it, you get a list of all the other materials you've used, including an "Add New" option:

I also used this button to get exactly the same materials on all my trees: each time I wanted to add the bark material to a tree trunk, instead of making a whole new material for it I clicked this button, and selected the material I had already made for the first tree.

OK; thanks guys.

I will try to get the Add New to do my bidding. It helps to know that it is supposed to respond. You know, nothing happens (properly) in Blender unless you know it is supposed to; if it thinks you don't know beans (me) it just does what it wants.

This Blender is a devious creature, but with your help, i shall tame it.

Mush, you huskies!

How's it working out for you? Any problems?
And in the next lesson we will be learning to make windows, doors, keyholes, pits, gears, and all sorts of goodies...! :D

Do you want to see my latest tree? Of course you do. :D
Show Spoiler

It's a little shiny, but I haven't figured out what to do about that yet. Or how to make the roots look less pointy.

Hey Owen, nothing wrong with those roots. That's the way they go into the ground, seems to me.

I can see this is an M&M Tree; is the trunk chocolate?
OOOHH! I love [really good] chocolate.

When i get the Links and Pipeline in your pic (above), i am in Object Mode. I Lclick on the tiny arrow and the Material lists come up with ADD NEW at the bottom; BUT-- i did not have colored circles beside my Materials; my circles are gray and everything stayd gray; no choice of colors shows up;
That is in Object Mode;
In Edit mode i get the normal ADD NEW buttion, the blank gray box, and then the color chart.

So, i was in Edit Mode when i did the coloring of the plane (a nice dark grayed green, not to garish), and then i planted my .2 cylinder (done in a noticably reddish color of maybe brown?), and then i planted a fairly large icoshpere and colored it green.

However, it turned out to be the Icoshpere that ate the universe:

Is part of my problem that i was coloring in Edit Mode?
(I know the other part: I am brain dead in Blender)
