I have a problem with my uru installation. Two days ago everything was fine, I have checked my results of building on my shell in Ahra Paths and had no problems.Yesterday, I want to start Uru and it give:
-->the introducing frame
-->than the CD is started
-->I can tell that I want to play
-->then the icoon is coming with "Uru is started "
-->and than ........nothing.
I have now re-installeted the game for two times but with the same result. What is going on, or is this familiair for someone.

I hope that someone have a suggestion because I want to show some results from my shell in the forum.

Bdw I was first using the latest stable version of the PRP and than I changed that in the 1.3.1 Than I get the trouble I didn't know this is a co-incidence or not.

hmm I have never seen that before, and I have no idea what happened, but let's check something first:
Can you go into the folder where Uru is installed, and see if all the files and folders that are usually here are indeed here. Specifically check if UruExplore.exe is here, if it is here double-click on it and Uru should start.

Try Urusetup. Methinks your video config is borked.

I have tried uru explorer and uru setup and the play is started with it. But just before you get the blue leader from cyan the play is going down and do nothing anymore.

I have the same problem. After the 2 intro movies the game hangs. Here is how I solve it:

1. Play in windowed mode.
2. When the game hangs do a Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up the Task Manager
3. Look under processes and select UruSetup.exe
4. Click on End Process and confirm

Now Uru will continue loading. This has become the normal Uru startup procedure for me.

When you re-installed, did you do a full uninstall, cause to me it sounds like a corrupt UruExplorer.exe or sav folder.

The sav folder won't necessarily get reset when a reinstall is done

Hmm, I assumed it was obvious from my post but this is what happens in my case: UruExplorer.exe fails to shut down UruSetup.exe and waits forever for it to close. So when you shut down UruSetup manually UruExplorer can continue.

But... I have now fixed this by installing the patch mentioned here: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/ ... 5401012463

The problem mentioned in that post has nothing to do with ours though, but don't let that put you off.

Thanks everyone for posting but all you suggestions didn't help.
Tomorrow I try a completed new and fresh installation so as mentioned in the forum you have posted D' Lanor , thanks for posting that, and when that is not succesfully I shall post there a topic about my problem.

It is fixed , after much try and error. I saw that there were some settings changed at my videocart. How I have no idea , the only reason can be that I have download a new driver for the videocart.
But I am very happy it works so the reason why is not so important for my anymore. Thanks for help and the suggestions you have brought in

Man! That thing cut startup time by half, at least. Gold to somebody, like myself, who changes a little thing, starts the game to see what happened, quits, repeat, repeat, repeat...
