Uru does indeed have the notion of collecting. Isn't that what journey cloths were?
Like Lontahv, I would suggest that it does not have to be the collecting of physical objects.

On the other hand, Cyan itself didn't hesitate to break the mold in Uru. They have stepped beyond Myst-like puzzles.
Why then souldn't you break the Uru mold and create entirely new kinds of puzzles and mechanisms?

An interesting example is the game "Mysterious Island", currently available on GameTap.
It lets you pick items up, and then combine them to form new objects that you will need to progress.

Bahro polls?

There were polls? So we could have averted this whole conflict thingie with some well placed lobbying at an early stage?

Sorry - that opportunity was just too good to pass up. :P

Do go ahead with your idea, LyricLeChuck! I don't believe it should be too hard to implement actually - no omnipresent inventory needed for the witches brew example concept either, if you need to bring your ingredients to a lab anyway - then you could just have collected things appear on the workbench. :7

I remember we've actually discussed using the clothing item feature as item collection.. like areas you could only step into if you were wearing a hard hat you had to find earlier on, things like that. Pretty easily to implement from already existing functionability.

Well, that would explain the Guild Pubs O_O

But not entirely... it might be possible to have the Watcher's Sanctuary open different curtains depending on if you have the Kahlo Pub Shirt on or not... would be interesting to find new ways around the place.
