blender problems

blender question: was wondering whats going on. I think I may know, but wanted to check. I created 2 terrain with bryce and exported it as a .obj and imported it into blender, now blender in edit mode is very slugish. also when selecting a vertice it sometime jumps to some wierd area. which messes up everything. It only happens with these particular objects.

It's to the point I can't even use a normal circle mesh with out it coming out like some weird art form. The question I have is does blender get flakey with to many vertices? what I don't understand is I've done this before and have never had these problems. It's just lately its been happening. It makes modeling very irritating.

If blender has become slow or flaky, try saving a .blend file, closing blender, and opening the file. Should clear out memory fragmentation problems and such that may have accumulated during import.
