PyPRP Dynamic Actor Bug (Nightly Version)

Postby Valdez » Mon Jun 09, 2008 8:44 am

I have been having some problems with the nightly version of the plugin (I can't use 1.4 since I get a call stack as soon as I link into my age). My kickables have suddenly disapeared. I have the latest version of the nightly one from today (and I will keep updating it until the next stable version is out). I tried another version of the plugin, still didn't work. I tried deactivating Shadbuf, no cigar. I deleted the .sav file to reset my age, still nothing. After trying these things (including reinstalling the plugin) nothing worked and all I can say is that it is the plugin's fault. Does anyone know if Dynamic Actors have new settings that are different from the other versions of the plugin?

Thanks,
Valdez :geek:

A reminder (thanks to Hoikas for this particular phrasing) ;)

The developers will not offer any support with experimental features found in the trunk until an official release is made.

Obviously, kickables are an old feature, but they may be in the middle of an update/overhaul. If you want STABLE, your best bet is the release :)

Yeah, i'm playing around with some features in SVN, but I doubt i'll get any support from them, ie none.
Hence its still in development, just use 1.4 for now, that has tons of features to keep you happy for days

What happened to the other posts here? Even if the devs don't offer support, topics like this can be helpful with debugging.

The original author didn't post any crash information, so we can't help him with anything from the genuine, released plugin.

Valdez ...DO NOT use the nightly plugin ... that has many NEW things that require your Age to be "converted" before it will work properly (the details of which are only currently known to the Developers) ...

go back and use the plugin version 1.4.0 plugin (until further notice). You will NOT get any help with the nightly plugin (which will NOT work with Ages made using the 1.4.0 plugin or before) ...

The "nightly" version is for the Developers to work with (or people brave enough to work ALONE, without help) ... I strongly suggest that you go back to the 1.4.0 version until there is an OFFICIAL release of a later version ... (this will give details of how you need to "convert" your existing Age(s) in order to export correctly) ...
when it comes to Age creation ... "DOH" seems to be my middle name...

Well unfortunetly whenever I use the 1.4 version my age crashes on me and I cannot go into it. I keep getting these annoying call stacks as soon as I link in, so therefore I MUST use this version. And no, I do not get any error logs. I keep trying to go back but I keep getting the call stack. If you CAN use the call stacks I can try to find them.

It would be helpful if you posted the stack dumps (we have people here who can make sense of them) rather than whining pathetically as you are doing now.
