/me remembers his last LAN party when BF1942 came out.
Ah, the joy of carrying a full tower, peripherals, 19" CRT, hub, cables, powerbars, beer and pizza down to host's (mother's) basement, spending 2 hours setting up and helping n00bs setting up (including the weird guy who's always downloading pr0n and has 457 viruses on his PC, the guy whose network and video drivers haven't been upgraded in 4 years and the guy who's determined to run BF1942 on a Pentium 200), fending off host's kid brother, finally getting to play the game about 15 minutes with half of the players between server crashes and before the circuit breaker trips on the one power outlet for the whole basement, and ending up 50 bucks short on the pizza.
Those were great times, before the dull internet game servers.
