Myst Offline: Complete Chronicles

Postby GPNMilano » Thu Jun 19, 2008 4:25 pm

As some of you know, for the last couple of weeks I've been working on a project. That project's first steps have been taken. With the arrival of Drizzle, we were able to successfully import the MOUL ages into the offline world of Uru: Complete Chronicles/AMB. Now, I have taken those first steps to the next level. Using Drizzle, Plasmashop, and PRPExplorer, I have been able to bring more than just the new ages into the offline world. For the first time I can now walk through Kirel, with the Guild Tables intact, visit a Museum and Library full of books, and spend time in a Bevin filled with beautiful stained glass, new lamps, and a link room full of books and a stone tablet.

Not only that, I have been able to make them workable. The linking books and stones all link successfully to their respective locations. The pods are now fully operational, with complete sounds, lights, and ladders. I can even turn the objects on and off, changing the stained glass and lamps in Bevin. With time I am confident that I can get the rest of the ages fully operational again. As new advancements are made in PyPRP by our developers, rest assured that I will continue to make advancements in MOCC, and I will be able to get the animations started, and the Bahro flying through the city. I will get Relto filled with the new objects, and someday, with enough work, Minkata fully operational.

While I have alot more work to do, in getting the rest of the Myst Online content into Uru, I have decided to post the first images from this project. I give you Myst Offline: Complete Chronicles "Chapter One"

I haven't touched the wall yet except to import the UU files into blender. I intent to base my work on that area off a combination of the wall in UU and the one from MOUL. Drizzle doesn't import physicals properly (Read: At All) And many of the prps for the wall rely on them. So, aside from the wall room itself, the nexuses and from MOUL, while the physics for the wall will be used from UU. It will more than likely be the hardest area to work on, aside from Minkata. (Which itself will more be about python the animation addons from the next version of PyPRP).

This... is incredible.

Truly magnificent work on your part, and a big step for the work that you've spent so much time on.

WOW!!!!

Not only is content from MOUL being imported, but content from UU as well! Incredible!

Is a tutorial for how to do all this in the works?

I just started working with drizzle, and have run into many glitches (as I'm sure you all know), and after a failed attempt to get K'veer to work, I've decided to leave the ages as they are, until otherwise...
It's great to see that someone's gotten them working :P good luck on the rest of your work :)

I am going to write a tutorial. But I do warn everyone, its going to be a long process, mostly importing the PRPs into Blender is the toughest challenge. Then its just a matter of re-texturing the objects and exporting them as a new PRP for the age.
