I generally only have a few avatars, and since the folder order is alphabetical (letters are stored in the ASCII table alphabetically, so their values are ascending as well), you can use that as a hint for which is which.

I know it's not something most people are going to bother with. Just wanted to point out it wasn't an arbitrary mess, and certainly not impossible.

Well, its official. Other than a minor hiccup, (three actually, but I'm pretty sure I know what two of them are) my relto bookshelf is full of books, and looking like it did in MOUL. Not only that, but with the exception of those three books, all the books work. Even the MOUL ones. I also retextured the bottom shelf, so now the ULM books will no longer look like bevin books. I used the files for the Zandi books, the CC bookshelf and the MOUL bookshelf to fill the missing slots and textures.

The three books that don't seem to work are Dereno (which appears but can't be clicked on) and Minkata and Jalak, which appear, can be clicked on, yet lead to the black void of "the impossible link". I'll have to look into why these three books specifically do not work.

All in all though not a bad days work if I do say so myself. Pictures coming shortly.

Ok first post, I will say awsome work, but disapointing, because I won't be able to reep the benifits.
Now on to the speculative side, what can be condoned and what can't in terms of re-distribution, and in terms of moding.

It would be posible to re-distribute some files (the modified ones) but not others (the sfx directory files), after all without them the age wouldn't be usable anyway. And for the pods (I can't say for sure because I haven't seen how you've changed them) but you may not even need to include the textures.
I mean the lines at what we do or don't do are at our own judgment, technicly almoast everything that got us to where we are violates the EULA. Some people will object some won't, importing the MOUL ages breaks the EULA even for personal use. the thing is, if people wanted to "steel" the games they could i'm sure there are a milion torrents out there, but the question is would we? people here arn't just casual users, we'r all hardcore fans, surly we trust ourselvs, I'm sure if cyan were to release the content as an expansion pack we'd all stop imidiatly without exception, but it doesn't look like they'r going to from where i'm siting.
what's more MOUL ages aside the areas like the city/bevin etc are all from the FREE x-pack to D'ni, though we theoreticly shouldn't be moding them it's not quite like pirate software. even these areas alone would be nice to better integrate the MOUL ages into CC/PotS, and people could suply there own MOUL ages.

Haveing said all this it's up to you, I can only hope you would re-consider makeing at least some of the modified contet avalible, the fourms wouldn't have to be responsible for hosting them as there are plenty of free hosting services out there.
Please don't anyone take what I have written here personaly, It's cot a critisism of anyone and I'm not acuseing anyone of wrong doings. Likewise please don't think I condone piracy, I simply wish to enjoy the wonderful content cyan have produced as it was supposed to be.

The modified prps for the pods i'm more than willing to release. there's nothing in them with cyan content. its just regions that drizzle couldn't convert, so i made them in blender and exported them as a new prp. I just need to fix them before they're released. (The cameras don't switch correctly. basically they switch, but they don't stay focused on the avatar but on the camera targets present in moul. which simply means i have to program them myself rather than base them on cyan 's programing for their cameras.

the bevin's and other stuff is where it gets techincal. its cyan textures and models. As for the sounds, I haven't touched them other than the eders. So they won't be distributed either. Assuming someone has the files on their system, they'll be able to hear the sounds. The tutorial will cover how i did the rest so others can duplicate it. the distributed files will just be the stuff without cyan ip.

Just curious, why not?

As for the rest of your caution and objections between the lines, in my short time here I have seen this subject pop up a few times. I must say, I am impressed with the overall attitude here. So far, I have seen nobody who blatantly ignores the issues you brought up (with a few exceptions). I trust in the decency of this community... have seen no reasons to change my mind yet. :)

As Promised. A picture of the Relto Bookshelf in Myst Offline: Complete Chronicles.

(Note: The missing textures are due to a graphics card problem on my computer. Not a problem with the shelf itself. It Looks fine on my laptop.)

Minor Update:

I decided to take a stab at some of the more complex things Yeesha pages. And I do have to say my first attempt turned out pretty well.

I'm gonna work on the rest of them this week, and release another video of the finished Relto.

when will we be seeing them?

also, would the relto page stuff be as pages or permanently modded into the age?

The Pods Patch will be here soon. I just need to find the time to fix the camera brains for the ladders and regions. I created one region for the two upper ladders and that really didn't turn out the way I wanted. The lower region looks okay though. You click the button it forces you to look out the window as the light comes on. You use the lever it moves to a perspective of you moving the lever etc. Its just the ladder cameras. I think a problem with the targeting system. Once I get the brains rewritten though I can export one prp for each of the ages, and they can just be modded into Uru with Plasmashop or UruFun.

As for the yeesha pages, right now they're modded in permanently modded in. I'll have to re-export them later to get the yeesha pages working. (the programming for them is done in both the SDL and Py files. I just have to add the alcscript. I don't want to do that till i get all of the objects in there, and the yeesha pages into their respective ages and scripted. Once everything's set up I'll go back and script it all so that the py file and sdl modifications connect.

Also, side note, its probably not such a good idea to mod the bookshelf for the new books. It turns out doing so makes ULM unusable. I don't know if its cause I had the minkata jalak and myst books on the bottom shelf, or if its putting any extra books on the shelf. I think its cause of the way ULM is written to interact with the bookshelf.
