Split from RAD July pre-contest discussion

The only activity from this "group" I know of is one random idiot who pops up every year, acts like he is the big cheese, says he's going to release "his plugin" in 2 weeks, and promptly disappears when the "release deadline" arrives.

Best to not count on "that group" anymore.

Adam,
You have no idea what i've been through this past year, so just shut your mouth before you look like an even bigger fool.

So you come here to attack me on your very first post rather than explaining your situation?

I gladly would have apologized had you done that. Now, I shall let my remark shine in glory for all men to see... And if you do explain yourself, and I look like"a big fool" then good job for you. I'll proudly proclaim myself: "Adam Johnson: The Fool"

Although I don't anticipate that happening, based on the above behavior.

Ok Hoik cool it! No need to get on Moocows case, especially since this is his first post on our board.

I am a bit disappointed that this IS his first post here. Obviously you have been reading the forum MC, why aren't you offering any positive posts? This board could use your expertise.

If you feel you only need to defend yourself here, I am dismayed. I hope you don't run off because of this.

I too would have liked to see more from Ycika. His age, Jaiden, that I had the privilege to test back in spring 2005 is still a remarkable age compared to what we can do with our current tools.

Mookow, I see no reason for you to be so insulting to Hoikas. Hoikas was being blunt about the issue, he was telling it as it was (or rather how he saw it was). Then you come on just to shoot him down.

From the way I read the post, I did not feel like Hoikas was being an idiot. Then you come on and make your self look like a real jerk. Maybe Hoikas was in the wrong, but even if he was you still look like a jerk because no one knows you around here, you look like a stranger coming in and attacking a valued member of the GoW on his own turf.

So, think about getting to know people around here if you really want to win your fight.

Ah the 3DStudio max plugin creator emerges.
Welcome, just wish it were better.

Not to add salt to the wound, but this community mainly revolves around Blender for its plug in, but I have been waiting, a long time to see a public version of this Max plug in.

I too have been down, mostly down, workin on those problems still, and I know there are several others on this board in the same boat.

I did see a movie on youtube that was made long ago with the max plugin.

Current problem is that for this contest, the shells are in .blend format, that Max nor any other program can understand, as Ahra Pahts was made with Blender from the start.

There is however no real problems importing into Blender Maya or Lightwave, or Max models in general

Eh, calling someone a random idiot is not insulting? Mookow's reaction is quite understandible and IMO rather mild considering the gravity of the insult.

Mookow does not have to prove himself here. This guild would do well to remember the people who did the pioneer work in the early days of Uru hacking which has made everything we do now possible.

Myeah, that was a bit over the top from Hoikas.
However (though the name calling is not excusable) it is understandable to lose faith in someone if they announce a release of something, and just vanish before the deadline they stated. Especially if it happened more than once, though I can't be certain that happened in this case.

I agree with that - though of course you can't rely on past efforts indefinitly, it helps to show your face once in a while :)

Though nice to know mookow is still around, and I'd love to hear more about his plugin from him :)

This topic has been split. I ask that we let those who are in disagreement to settle this on their own.
