Cavern Leadership?

Anything that isn't directly related to Age Creation but that might be interesting to Age developers.

I'm betting they have been doing some planning: ;)

That's my worst fear. The Cyan brain trust is dogged in their beliefs of How Things Work, particularly when it comes to human nature and the "community." The longer they have to think and plan, the further things get from reality. Let's just hope they're not planning on DRC Liaison Redux.

I'm betting their not. Call it gut instinct. ;)

Again, we'll have to hear from them. Not like we can just fire up any servers ourselves now. :D

Yeah, I'm with Andy on this one. I just have a feeling we'd better wait and not make presumptions. Past experience tells me they have things worked out way before we even see the clouds on the horizon.... Point and case being this release of the rights back to Cyan. I know they've been working on that one for months, yet we had no clue. They do the whole "top secret and quiet" thing to protect us, I think, because we are one rabid fan base at times.

I for one frown upon times when the NPCs just stand there and talk.

It would be much more immersive if some DRC people just came down to Ae'gura, walked around and looked like they were talking amongst themselves. Then, if they want, just say hi and talk to people nearby, then leave.

Makes the NPCs seem more real, and doesn't bore the living hell out of me.

Also, we don't get Screamers yelling out caps lock sentences.

I'll give you this: for all their bumbling, CYAN usually gets their way at the end. It's probably the kitten effect. They're so cute and harmless that nobody wants to hurt them.

Concerning leadership... if I may offer my opinion... and since we're only speculating about something that has not even begun to happen yet.

Being all males *ahem* mostly *cough* we all dream of leadership. Having worked in ICT for many years, everybody seems to think their particular expertise is the most important of all. I love the GoW, being a computer person I was naturally drawn to this place but! Here is my point: Leadership should NEVER, EVER come from the developers.

I would say, Cyan should NEVER let go of their leadership position altogether, but if! If! they need a group to organize matters, in my opinion that should be delegated to the Guild of Maintainers, not the Guild of Writers.

You can't develop and make major decisions at the same time, that would certainly result in chaos. The GoMa on the other hand however, is in a positition to objectively see what is going on, and discuss matters on a much more neutral basis.

Of course right now the line is very blurred, because some "prominent" Maintainers are also "prominent" Writers. I think at one point we will all reach a point where we "have to take sides", as Yeesha said, or make a definite choice where we wish to belong.

Just my two cents...

WHAT? I'll fight you to death!

:)

Just joking. It's true that developers should never be put in a position of making decisions.

Now what was that about males and leadership? Are you insinuating that testosterone and ego are somewhat related?
I'm puzzled at this new concept.
