Hi everybody.
The German Age Builder Community seams to be growing lately. Because of that i decided to translate some tutorials.
I will start with the "Your first real age"-tutorial.
It would be awesome if there was a possibility to integrate those translations in the GoW-Wiki because i don't want to start a new wiki only for the translated tuts.
It will take ages(Get it? :P ) till I am done with the first one but when it is ready the wiki could go multi-lingual with English, French and German tutorials...

Glad to see someone else agrees with my suggestion of approaching it.

I think a system similar to how alcugs did it would work well... Links to translated versions to each page on each page.

It may be helpful to prefix the two letter language code to each pagename eventually e.g. En:My_very_very_fake_page.

Edit: I have update the main page as an example.

Yeah, that's the way I'd prefer it as well. Should the translated pages have the English title with Prefix ("De:First_Age") so that everyone sees they're the same, or should the title be translated ("De:Erstes_Zeitalter") so that the correct one is displayed on the page? I'd vote for the first idea so that English-speaking Admins and Mods can quickly see which page this is the translation of.
Is there a reason why the French translations are kept in a separate Wiki?

I don't like that grey box though, it should either have the same background as the rest of the wiki or at least have some space to the title.

I would prefer the latter for ease of use of the user. It should be fairly trivial to follow links ;)

As for the box: !@#$, I forgot that not everyone uses monobook like I do... I've corrected that.

Monobook? Never heard ;-)
Yeah, this way it looks good :)
Btw, at least on my monitor the links in the wiki are generally hard to read. A dark red on black ground, it hurts my eyes to read long link lists. I generally don't like bright letters on dark ground, but the board and also normal text in the wiki is ok (and I can change the style in the board if I want to) as the text is large and bright enough.

Hi,

the reason for which the french tutorials are in a separate wiki is that we already have a wiki and no decision was still taken about the "multi-language" GoW wiki ;). (Or It's because I have problems to read something written on a black background  , that's not a good reason!)

I have no problem to copy the tutorials already translated here, adding a prefix to the titles.

As long as we didn't translate lot of tutorials, maybe that a link in front of the original tutorials in the main page is sufficient (not a main page for every language).

See you soon.

Show Spoiler

Edit: Ok, now it works. Forgot that i didn't check the auto-login thing...

Edit2: I am now beginning to set everything up. I'll try to make it look like the English wiki.

Edit3: First part of the first tutorial is up.

Edit4: The second part is up.

Cool, Zirrus :)
I just renamed the "main page" of these tutorials do have the "De:" prefix before figuring out that the other pages did not have it as well. I think we should rename them, but before I rename 3 more pages I'll wait for confirmation ;-) I also added links to the version with the other language (English/German) for that page, but I don't think we need such a link on every of the sub-tutorials, just for the main ones.

Hoikas, where did you get the flags from? Could you add an English one as well?

Errr...i guess that "De" Prefix is kinda useless. All of that is in the German section of the wiki and people who don't speak German will notice that they in the wrong place as soon as they see the title.

There is a link to the main page on the sidebar. I guess it's enough when there is a link for the different versions on the main German page.

And(for me the main reason) i don't like the looks of it :P

The issue with the flag is: What flag should it be? US or UK? :D

Edit: Oh, btw, in the German version i will explain the new UV Mapping of Blender version 2.46. I guess i will skip the old techniques.
If needed i can still add it.
