I downloaded your age to see what it's like.

It looks very good and when the puzzles etc are inplemented will be even better.

Unfortunately I don't have a low end machine to test it with! I was going to test it in Ubuntu, but am having problems with Uru in general on Linux!

But on my fairly highend PC it ran very well.

OK ... Sonavio has had a quick update (but the "old" doors are still not fixed yet) ... check out the "watch this space" ... though it's not finished yet ... ;)

Be sure to replace ALL the zip files in your installation (especially the .pak & .sdl !!)
when it comes to Age creation ... "DOH" seems to be my middle name...

Regarding using it on Linux, it's actually what I do (with the graphics settings set to the default, but the resolution up to 1280x1024). It works really fine, no difference from Windows besides the waveset - I just can't see it on Linux. I see the ground of that lake and hear the water sounds when I walk in it, but no water anywhere :D But that's nothing bob can fix with the current PyPRP.

Btw, where are the new versions announced? I only note them after getting told by a friend ;-)

New versions are usually announced in the GoMa forums here.

Ah, I see.... that would mean another board to register at :( So I guess I will still have to rely on seeing it somewhere else in future ;-)

I just downloaded the latest versions and now I have some issues I did not have before (at least I can't remember):
- the lights in the tunnel before the analysis room are wired. While I walk or turn around, the effect they have (i.e. brightening wall and floor) goes off an on and off depending on what I look at... I could take some screenshots or even try making a video if necessary (I still have to test if that happens on Windows as well)
- this one was definitely not the case in the last version I had: The button in the hut where you can climb up to is not clickable

I don't think it is the lights. What I am seeing in the tunnel is the transparency of the fading avatar messing with the alpha layers in the stenciled walls. As of PyPRP 1.5.0 alpha layers are automatically moved into blendspans which is causing all kinds of glitches. In this case it allows peeking through the walls through the transparent avatar.

This undesired behavior really MUST be reverted.

I don't think you're speaking of the same effect as I do. I can't peek through walls, they just get brighter and darker. In addition, I'm in first person mode, so there's no avatar.

Well, they do get brighter as I peak through them. This happens only very shortly during the avatar fade. But since you're not on Windows I guess all bets are off.

Well, here are two screenshots (both 1st person mode):

Then I turned my avatar some degrees (but did nothing else):

that is something I do know about ... it's strange ... that button uses the xAgeSDLIntActEnabler python file ... and only "works" once you have pressed the OUTSIDE button (the button that opens and closes the door from outside the hut) ...

If you link into the underground chamber BEFORE you have opened and closed the door at least once from the outside then it has no hotspot. However, once you open & close the door from outside then the inside button works as it should do ... :?

As for the lighting .... yes, the cave walls use three layers of textures, two of which have a slight alpha setting and are used to create detail (using the filter option) ...
