The droplets could easily be done without particles, I'm thinking only one system is needed here for a fine simulation of Gira-style falls.

Particle systems look fairly simple. They take a material, opacity control, height control, width control (all of which are sets of keyframes), and of course a particle generator (plSimpleParticleGenerator, a group of sources, stored in vectors). Who wants to take a crack at them? :D I don't.

This new folder contains my new particle stuff PLUS the cluster stuff... I thought I'd leave the Cluster stuff so that it's easier to merge.

plParticleSystem is "working".

I have control over all the plParticleSystem vars... now I just need to use them to do good. ;)

Lontahv's definition of "working" is usually something along the lines of "not crashing," but looks intriguing. I'll check it out :)

You honestly dislike the gira falls? I always thought that was one of the better looking areas in the game. Do you just dislike all waterfalls in uru? I personally think the rising mist looks fine...

Personally I think the mist could look better..it doesn't look bad...just could be better.

Kierra in Shell 129 "Ahno Tsahno" I used a relatively flat plane (subdivided and bend at several spots) in front of my waterfalls that have a moving texture of droplets. Personally I think it doesn't look worse than Gira. If you bend the mesh at the right spots some drops seem to be falling faster than others. I also managed to get a similar effect to Gira's foam below the waterfall. Looks pretty good too. At this moment for me this is enough until I can use particles to add some steam like effects.

Wow that looks great!! :o

Do you think you'd be willing to write a tutorial on how you did it?

Yes I am, and I have been planning to do so. At the moment though I have personal stuff going on and I don't have much time. I will try to do it though.

I might as well share this with you guys... on Monday I broke up with my girlfriend after being together for 15 years. Old story... feeling been gone for a long time. A sad week with both relieve and tears. I will try to keep building in the upcoming weeks to keep my mind busy. These days though I won't be able too I expect.

But... I will definitely do a waterfall tutorial.

Thnx
