Exporting Error

Exporting Error

Postby Justintime9 » Sat Sep 13, 2008 9:37 am

I was just working on my age, and I exported the age to URU, but at one point it gave me a "Python script error: check console", so I checked the console, and here's what it looked like: Image
Now, I looked around for anything wrong with my textures, and everything seemed to be in order... Any Idea what happened?

Make sure that every object has a UVTex and a UV Texture applied.

what that means is ... check the name of the object that the error console refers to ... and UV map the WHOLE object again ...
when it comes to Age creation ... "DOH" seems to be my middle name...

Well, I don't know which object it's refering to, and second of all, how do I UV map the ground that I detail textured? I have two textures assigned to it, so I can't UVmap both at the same time... There are certain objects that are just the non-UVmapping type of texturing, and that's the only way to have stencils as well... so, /me is confuzed

ok...you see in the above picture under UV Texture it has TWO entries, one called UVTex and one called Stencil ... click BOTH of the little boxes (the one with the + and the one with the little orangy square) ... that will change the texture on your object in your main Blender window. Once you have the correct texture on your Object in Blender ...then you can enter Edit Mode and UVmap THAT texture ...
when it comes to Age creation ... "DOH" seems to be my middle name...

hmm... I'm not following you...
why can't we just do it the old way... I have an age, that was perfectly stenciled, and it exported fine, before the current plugin... now I have to do some annoying thing with the UVTex buttons or something?

'cause I think you're using my local version. >.<

For Yinfara to export correctly you need that version but for your previous ages to export correctly (and you know how to set the settings) you need to have the latest release version. Just grab that one install it and you should be fine... except for Yinfara.

Just install the old version over it. :)

...or keep two scripts directories and swap them (name or location) prior to starting Blender. :7

Note that when completing missing UVs for an object, there is no need to redo the whole map - just select the UV-less faces (or all, if you prefer) and select a texture in the UV/image editor - the faces will get default mapping (as close to $the_entire_image as you get with a triangle :7).

Hmm, will we be allowed to leave faces unmapped in the near future, Llon [oops, turned the bloke welch there]? :7
