It's finally here! :D

Blender 2.48 includes a number of new features aimed specifically at game design and level creation (non-Uru terms for Age Building ;) ). A fully lit and textured GLSL view, a Grease Pencil, object snapping, and a number of patches to help PyPRP (especially with regards to projection layer lamps).

What are you waiting for? Get it now!

But does it break any form of PyPRP compatibility?

No, or else dox wouldn't be constantly using it. There's also the possibility of an update to an existing feature (layer lamps) that would require an upgrade to 2.48 (where you can now get layers from a blender lamp via python)

Hmm, but somehow I don't expect Paradox to be using PyPRP 1.5.x. ;)

I haven't used Blender 2.48 myself but I believe the plan was to move that button under a new advanced panel.

There's now a dropdown with different detection types. Default is static. To make it an actor, you need to choose Dynamic, and there should be an actor button.

Unfortunately, the dropdown can't be used entirely to its potential due to a lack of Python API changes, but I'm expecting that to be fixed by 2.5.

Okay, got it.....

This means some tutorials will need to be changed.

Er... silly question but I have a Vista 64 system, and now there is a 64 bits version of 2.48 (in fact, the x86 version just crashes). However, it does not seem to recognize any settings changes and it doesn't see Python at all. Any ideas? It's not a big deal, I am QUITE happy with 2.47 still :D
