Something Weird

Postby I.Brattin » Thu Mar 05, 2009 12:54 pm

K I've been working on a part of Yaeviev, mainly the underground complex. Since I don't have the linking books setup for the Nexus and all yet I started modeling the complex in a different blend file. Well it all exports fine. When I go to start my ULM Uru installation and link to the test age for the complex, Uru says files are corrupted and closes on me. Upon closer inspection Uru is actually deleting the files for the age.

When exported to my Drizzle Uru Installation it loads, and I link to the age with no problem.

Deleted files usually means there is a sequence prefix conflict. Did you change the sequenceprefix number under "Book" (in the Text Editor window) to something else than the default?

Yes I did. I will double check and make sure just to be on the safe side.

Then you can probably guess the next question: what did you change it to? ;)

Your right there was a conflict. I had previously had exported an Age, remember that age I had been working prior to start Yaeviev - the one that had the face count ridiculously high. I had completely forgot about it till I went and looked at the Ages in my ULM dat folder. The Underground Complex was conflicting with it.

I have this same problem with Phil's Relto. Does anyone know off-hand what sequence prefix it has?

I had that problem with Phil's one time also with it crashing Uru saying it was corrupt. I just reinstalled and never had the problem again.

I don't think it is a conflict with a custom age though. Could it be yeah but I don't think so.

The Phil's Relto problem is caused by the very first distribution of MOUL files. It contained an Eder Tsogal which had the same sequence prefix as Phil's Relto, Dustin obviously missed that conflict. Later versions know about this and change the Eder Tsogal prefix. However if you had started Uru while the invalid Eder Tsogal was installed, you will have to re-install it or copy Phil's Relto from a working installation.
To answer your question, Whilyam, http://alcugs.almlys.org/ListOfSequencePrefixes also lists the sequence prefixes of Cyan ages.
