Does Uru/PyPRP support using Meta objects?

Postby Jamey » Sat Mar 07, 2009 4:04 pm

I was toying around with these earlier today and realized that using these in ages could present amazing possibilities.

So, are they supported?

They work like objects made of liquid, when you move them close to each other, they can automatically merge and become one:

and here is a sample I searched up on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcX-65eDtmY

They are really cool! Try toying around with them in Blender if you haven't already :)

I wouldn't hold my breath on ingame metaballs (dang, goodbye sweet lavalamp age). Then again, they were common in demos well over a decade ago, so what do I know, maybe there is such a feature lurking in there. :7

 I do hope you're right Jojon, because like I said, having this feature available in age creation will open up many new possibilities!

Anyone else know anything about meta objects and if they are supported?

I'm really not sure if these are in the Plasma engine. But I'm guessing they're not, because Plasma's seems to have a pretty hard time with dynamic meshes.
Currently getting some ink on my hands over at the Guild Of Ink-Makers (PyPRP2).
