For those of you who have asked. :) Yes, the music is from the myst 4 soundtrack and is the theme music for the age Haven another age which I enjoy and I think has some small resemblance to Fen. Glad you all enjoyed the music.

I have just recently downloaded the offline KI and will soon be working on capturing footage for both Maw and Fen.

Hey Robbieagray, quick update. I'm almost done with the modeling for the intro, but I had a couple questions for you. All of these will help me better direct my efforts so that they integrate better with your efforts.

1. At the moment, do you plan for this promo to include one fan age or multiple fan ages? (Personally, I think it would be kind of cool if this became a series with each one looking at a different age.)

2. Do you plan to present this in a standard 4:3 aspect, or in widescreen?

3. If you are doing multiple ages in your trailer, are you planning to mix them together in a single sequence, or would you like a quick transitional animation to separate them?

4. What software are you using to edit this together?

I've included an updated image of the modeling.

So here's what I'm planning, let me know if this conflicts with what your planning on doing. The scene will start out slowly zooming in on the book on the pedestal. The camera focuses on the seal on the book, which has a GoW symbol on it. The lines in the symbol will glow, and text will appear below saying something like, "Guild of Writers" or maybe a series title if we go that route. The book opens to reveal a linking panel showing a preview fly through to the age of interest. Text will appear below showing the name of the age. The next part I'm still trying to figure out how to do, but I was thinking of a particle effect so that it looks like the screen is getting absorbed by the linking panel quickly followed by the camera. Sort of a first person link. From there we would fade into your stuff. At the end we would return to the book for some credits.

As you can see, a lot of this is guesstimated on where I though you were going with your stuff. So consider most of it subject to change. Like I said before, I'm here to facilitate your project, not usurp it. Let me know what you think. :)

Great image.

Whither it will be 14:3 or widescreen I am unsure. If you could explain this concept better I could answer your quistion better.

I was originally planning on mixing the fan ages into the footage but I am open to change.

In order to create trailer to premote the guild of age writers I will need a storyline to rely off of. I would make it by my self, however I first need to know whither it is okay for to use the springs of kelhbet story line or whither I should use something else.

Sure, 4:3 Standard is the shape of the old-school television and the video have a more square shape. 16:9 Widescreen is what newer televisions come in and is more rectangular shape. See Diagram:

16:9 Widescreen

Widescreen is generally considered more cinematic. Youtube recently upgraded their player to widescreen, and you'll notice that all the older square videos now have black borders on the sides like this one here. It should be noted that Uru: Complete Chronicles does not support widescreen resolutions so if you do decide to go widescreen, the video will end up getting cropped.

Put more simply, as your images suggest, you get more cute chicks with 16:9.

The slide show is standard 4:3 which is what most movie editing software default to. Really, standard 4:3 can be cropped to to widescreen or vice versa.

A quick update, I've finished the the 3D footage and am rendering it out now, then all I have to do is add in the text, linking panel and polish it up. I'll post the video once I have it ready.

Great! I look forward to seeing it. :) :) :)

Ha! are you going to post it on youtube? If so that would be great. :)
If you don't have a youtube account just send the movie to me and I will post the trailer on my youtube page and I will state in the movie description that I posted the movie for Greendragon a member of the Guild of Age Writers. ;)

Alright, I've got a first draft completed. No sound or music yet. For the moment I threw one of the Myst III ages in there as an example, but the final product would be the fan-created age of choice. The linking panel and text can be easily swapped out as needed. Anyway, here it is: :D
