I just remembered I was having a similar edge problem in Enobmort when I was adding the numbers I had completely forgotten as it was not water. I solved it by placing an extreemly small gap between surfaces. By small I mean the smallest possible like 0.001 of a unit.

The glowing appeared to be the product of conflict arising out of Blender not being able to identify a specific value for the point where one object ends and the next begins.

Adding this small degree of separation seemed to fix the problem.

I would be interested in finding out if this worked for the lilly pads.

The separation is so small you can only see it on full zoom in Blender.
