Disagree.
The purpose of the Guild is not, and has never been, to create Ages.
Writers create Ages, not the Guild. This is a huge difference that you should understand.
As Hoikas stated perfectly, the purpose of the Guild is "to facilitate age writers and tools related to age development". It hasn't changed since 2004.
The GoW is where Writers come for help, tools, ideas and discussion.
This would not be possible without the accumulated knowledge gathered since 2004 by hackers who decrypted and reverse-engineered Cyan files, mapped the prp structure and made tools such as PyPrp, PrpExplorer, PlasmaShop, libPlasma, PageEditor, Alcugs, ULM, UAM, Drizzle, etc. People such as Almlys, D'lanor, Dustin, Zrax, Hoikas, Paradox, diafero, Trylon, Chloe, Christian Walther, Robert the rebuilder, BAD, Jonnee and numerous others that have vanished. All of this without any help from Cyan.

Our focus has never changed. To say it is "the wrong direction" is to ignore our history.
As a Writer, it is entirely possible for you to only come here to benefit from this knowledge. You can elect to never read the tools forums. In that sense also, our focus has not changed.
And now I get down from my soap box and answer Dakro's original post: not sure if your perception is correct. Sure, we've heard about the hacking side recently, with the controversy about Hex Isle, but look at the Ages being worked on: three team projects including one by Italian members, Ahrkane, Fahets, lots of other Ages just released, interesting research on D'ni architecture, etc. Maybe it's just that Ages don't generate controversy.
